Judges
Judge opportunities
Browse upcoming hackathons a judge can act on at /judge-opportunities, filter them, and read the accessibility tier for each.
/judge-opportunities lists upcoming hackathons that are worth contacting about judging. It uses the same table as the database, narrowed to events a judge can act on, with an accessibility score on every row.
You can open the page without an account. Signing in lets you save a filtered view as a saved search.
What gets listed
The page shows upcoming events that look open to outside judges: ones that say they want judges, or where you can reach the organizer to offer.
Each row links to the event's page with View. Click anywhere else on a row to open the event details panel.
The columns
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Platform | The platform the event is hosted on |
| Title | The event name |
| Accessibility | The tier: Likely open, Worth reaching out or Probably closed. Hover it to see the score out of 100 |
| Start Date | When the event starts, or TBD |
| Format | online, in-person or hybrid |
| Participants | The expected or registered count, or TBD |
| Location | City and country, or Online |
| Organizer | The first organizer's name |
| Contact | A Contact email link on Pro Plus, a lock otherwise |
The list is sorted by start date, soonest first. Use the sort menu in the toolbar to sort by title, format, participants or location instead.
See The accessibility score for what the tier and score tell you.
Views and filters
The view menu at the top switches the time window:
| View | Plan |
|---|---|
| Upcoming (Next 7 days) | Free, the default |
| Upcoming (All) | Dev Pro |
| Active | Dev Pro |
| All | Dev Pro |
| Ended | Dev Pro |
On the free plan, the paid views show a lock and an upgrade prompt instead of the table. Below the free table, a banner shows how many opportunities you are seeing out of the full upcoming total.
Advanced Filters in the toolbar narrows the list by:
- Format: Online, In-Person or Hybrid
- Country
- City
- Student-run: Yes or No
- Participants: a number comparison, for example fewer than 200
Add as many conditions as you need and switch between Match All and Match Any. Filters stay in the URL, so you can bookmark or share a filtered list.
Save a filtered list
Once the page is filtered and you are signed in, a Save search button appears. Saving gives the list a name and puts it under Saved searches in the sidebar. Turning on notifications for it gives you judge alerts, covered in Alerts and organizer contacts.
What each plan shows
| Free | Dev Pro | Pro Plus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opportunities in the next 7 days | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Every upcoming opportunity, and the Active, All and Ended views | No | Yes | Yes |
| Accessibility tier and score on each row | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| The reasons behind each score, in the event details | No | Yes | Yes |
| Organizer emails, LinkedIn and Instagram | No | No | Yes, where available |
The free plan sees the tier, Dev Pro sees why. Not every event has a published contact, so a Pro Plus row can still show a dash in the Contact column.
Use it from an AI assistant
The HackathonRadar MCP server has a find_judge_opportunities tool that returns the same upcoming opportunities, each with its accessibility score. Ask your AI assistant for judging opportunities by keyword, country or format.
| Plan | What the tool returns |
|---|---|
| Free | An upgrade message |
| Dev Pro | Opportunities and scores, with organizer contact fields removed and a note saying contacts need Pro Plus |
| Pro Plus | Opportunities, scores and organizer contacts |
Set it up with the MCP server guide.
