Exports

Get hackathon, organizer and sponsor data out of HackathonRadar as CSV, into Google Sheets, or into your own systems with the API and webhooks

There are four ways to take HackathonRadar data into your own tools: a CSV download from the app, CSV export endpoints in the API, a Google Sheets sync, and webhooks. If you want to look at the data before you buy, you can also ask for a sample.

MethodPlan
CSV export of hackathons from /databaseDev Pro
CSV export of organizers from /organizersPro Plus
Google Sheets syncPro Plus
CSV export of sponsors and sponsor contacts from /sponsorsEnterprise
API export endpoints and webhooksEnterprise

Export CSV from the app

Every directory has an Export CSV button in its toolbar: /database for hackathons, /organizers for organizers and /sponsors for sponsors. The button is hidden when the toolbar is narrow, so widen the window if you do not see it.

  1. Filter the list

Pick the view and search you want. The export uses the same view and search as the table.
  2. Pick your columns

Open Columns and turn on the columns you want in the file. The export includes only visible columns, in the table's order.
  3. Export

Press Export CSV. The file downloads as hackathons-DD-MM-YYYY.csv, organizers-DD-MM-YYYY.csv or sponsors-DD-MM-YYYY.csv.

Things to know about the file:

  • It holds up to 10,000 rows. Narrow your filters if you need a specific slice of a larger set.
  • Columns your plan does not include are left out. For example, the Organizers and Primary Organizer Email columns need Pro Plus, and Quality needs Enterprise.
  • Lists such as categories, sponsors, organizers and sponsored hackathons are joined with semicolons.
  • Descriptions are exported as plain text, prize pools include their currency, and the Quality column writes the score followed by its reasons.

On Enterprise, the sponsor CSV adds four columns after the ones you picked: Top Contact Email, Top Contact Name, Top Contact Role and Contact Count. Opted-out contacts are never chosen as the top contact. See Sponsor directory for more on contacts.

Export endpoints in the API

On Enterprise, the same exports are available as API endpoints, so a script can pull a fresh file on a schedule. Each returns a CSV attachment and takes your API key as a bearer token. Create a key at /settings/api-access; Authentication and keys covers the details.

EndpointFilters
GET /api/hackathons/exportsearch, type (online, in-person or hybrid), category, country (full country name), studentOnly, upcoming, ongoing, active, ended
GET /api/organizers/exportsearch, domain
GET /api/sponsors/exportsearch, domain

All three accept columns, a comma-separated list of column keys. Leave it out to get every column.

Request
curl "https://www.hackathonradar.com/api/hackathons/export?upcoming=true&country=Germany&columns=title,start_at,city,prize_pool,sponsors" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -o hackathons.csv

The sponsor export endpoint returns the sponsor records only, without the top contact columns. For structured JSON instead of CSV, use the API; the Organizers and sponsors page covers those endpoints.

Sync to Google Sheets

On Pro Plus you can connect a Google Sheet at /settings/google-sheets and HackathonRadar keeps it filled with hackathons every hour. Setup, sync types and troubleshooting are in Google Sheets sync.

Get changes pushed with webhooks

If you would rather receive data than fetch it, Enterprise webhooks send new and updated hackathons to your own endpoint. Configure them at /settings/webhooks, and read Webhooks for the payload format.

Request sample data

To evaluate the data before you subscribe, open /contact?intent=sample-data. The contact form opens with Request sample data selected. Add your name, work email, company and a note on what you want to test, such as a region, a category or a set of competitor sponsors. To talk it through with the team instead, book a demo at /enterprise-demo.
