Judges
Alerts and organizer contacts
Get emailed when a new judging opportunity matches your filters, and find the organizer contact for each event.
A judge alert emails you when a new judging opportunity matches your filters. Organizer contacts, where available, let you offer to judge before the panel fills up.
Set up a judge alert
A judge alert is a saved search made on /judge-opportunities with notifications on. Alerts need Dev Pro. You can save a judge search on the free plan, but it never sends.
Filter the judge list
Sign in and open /judge-opportunities. Pick a view or add conditions under Advanced Filters, for example Format is Online, or Country is Germany.Save the search
Click Save search, give it a name such as "Online judging" and save. You land on the saved search, which starts Paused.Turn on notifications
Click Get notifications on the saved search, or go to /settings/saved-searches. Flip the switch next to the search so its badge reads Active. Email is selected for you, and it sends to your account email.
Slack, Discord and custom webhook delivery for alerts need Enterprise.
What an alert contains
When new events that match your filters appear on HackathonRadar, you get an email listing them. Judge alerts only include events where the organizer can be reached, and you are never alerted twice about the same event from one search. Nothing is sent when nothing new matches.
Each event in the email shows its title (linking to the event's own website or registration page), dates, location and the prize pool when it is published. The footer links to your saved searches settings, where you can change channels, pause the search or delete it.
Where organizer contacts appear
Organizer contacts are a Pro Plus feature. With Pro Plus you see them in:
| Place | What you get |
|---|---|
| Contact column on /judge-opportunities | A mailto link to the organizer's email |
| Organizers section in the event details panel and on event pages | Each organizer's name, email, LinkedIn and Instagram, where we hold them |
| The organizer directory at /organizers | Organizer profiles across all their events. See Organizer directory |
find_judge_opportunities over MCP | Contact fields on each organizer |
On lower plans, the Contact column and the organizer contacts in event details show a lock.
Contacts are shown where available
Many events list no email at all, or only a LinkedIn or Instagram profile. Pro Plus shows whatever is available for each event. It does not guarantee an email for every event, so a row can still show a dash in the Contact column.
When you write to an organizer, say who you are, what you can judge and why their event caught your eye. Keep it short: organizers get a lot of email in the weeks before an event.
Record your judging on Hack Passport
Once you have judged, add the event to your Hack Passport with the Judge role. Your passport counts these in its Judged stat, so you have one public record to share with the next organizer you contact. See Hack Passport to set one up.
