The things that decide your weekend aren't on the poster

Prize per participant only means something against a reference class. We hold 5,371 events with a prize pool and 8,512 with attendance, so 'is this field going to be brutal' has an actual answer.
We record whether an organizer covers travel or accommodation as its own field, read out of the full sentence on the page. 'Travel will not be covered' reads very differently from 'Travel & Hospitality track', and only a careful pass catches that.
Whether judging criteria, an agenda and a prize breakdown exist is checked on every event we track, in the same way, so 'this one hasn't published its criteria' is a comparison, not a complaint.
We've been tracking these events for years across every major platform, including the ones that quietly disappear. If it's in here, it was real at ingestion time.

What we measure

Competition intensity: prize pool per participant against comparable events.
Cost to attend: format, location, and whether the organizer covers travel or accommodation.
Clarity: whether judging criteria, an agenda and a prize breakdown are actually published.
Fit: student-only flags and beginner-friendliness signals from the event's audience profile.
Deadline pressure: how long you have until it starts.

Questions

Will it tell me not to enter?

It won't give you a verdict. It tells you what kind of event it is. High competition with strong beginner support is a very different weekend from a low-key local one, and only you know which you want.

What if the event isn't in your database?

We read the page directly. You'll get less history and a lower confidence rating, and we'll say so.
