Is this hackathon worth sponsoring?

Sponsorship decisions usually get made on a PDF and a gut feeling. This checks the event against our corpus: who is running it, how many people events like it actually draw, who the audience is, and where the prize pool sits.

Built from 10,676 tracked hackathons, 12,349 quality scores, 12,237 organizers and 6,010 sponsors.

What we measure

  • Organizer track record: how many events they have run, and their organizer quality score.
  • Estimated attendance: the p25–p75 range of comparable events, plus the organizer's own figure where they publish one.
  • Audience fit: our estimated audience profile, with per-dimension confidence, when we have profiled the event.
  • Prize percentile: where the prize pool sits among comparable hackathons.
  • Listing quality: the same five-bucket score used across the site.

Questions

Do you tell me what the sponsorship should cost?

No. We hold no sponsorship pricing data, so any number we printed would be invented. We tell you what the event is; the price is between you and the organizer.

How accurate is the attendance estimate?

It is a range from comparable events, not a forecast. Organizer-reported attendance is unverified, and we say so wherever we show it.

What if the event has no sponsors listed?

We fall back to the organizer's sponsor history and the category's sponsor landscape, and tell you that's what we did.
