About this hackathon

Overview Students of Global Impact — Social Startup Championship India's largest student-driven nation-building initiative The Social Startup Championship, presented by IFSPD Europe (Special Consultative Status, United Nations ECOSOC), invites student founders across India to solve real problems and build the nation. Open to all students, the championship recognizes young changemakers who turn ideas into action — from grassroots community projects to scalable social ventures. Every Founder who applies gets certified. Top founders advance to a fully funded, 3-day residential summit, where they compete for national awards and university certification alongside India's most promising student innovators. Highlights: Open to all students, no prior experience required. Every applicant receives official certification as a Founder. Top-performing founders are invited to a fully funded, 3-day residential summit — meals, stay, and networking included. Winners receive national recognition and a university certificate programme. Get your Founder Pass at PortAhead Application deadline: 30 September 2026 Details of the Opportunity: Students of Global Impact — Social Startup Championship is India's largest student-driven nation-building initiative, presented by IFSPD Europe (Special Consultative Status, United Nations ECOSOC). It invites student founders to design and execute a real-world action project addressing a UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of their choice — not a hypothetical pitch, but a project actually carried out and independently verified. Every founder who registers and submits a verified project is certified. Verified founders earn points and badges as they progress through five levels — Founder → Rising Founder → District → State → National → Global Founder. Founders who reach the top levels are invited to a fully funded, 3-day residential summit, where they compete for national awards and a university certification. Guidelines: Eligibility: Open to all students, ages 12–21, studying at a recognized school or college in India. Team format: Individual or team entries. All team members must belong to the same college and the same field of specialization — inter-college and inter-specialization teams are not permitted. Team size: Up to confirm max team size, e.g. 4 members confirm max team size, e.g. 4 members. Format: Open-ended — there are no fixed problem statements or timed rounds. Each founder/team selects one real-world problem aligned to any UN SDG and designs their own project to address it. Process: Register for a Founder Pass at PortAhead.com → execute the project → submit for review → project and impact are independently auditor-verified (self-reported claims alone are not accepted) → verified founders earn points/badges and progress through the levels. Duration: The project execution and submission window runs up to the application deadline of 30 September 2026; auditor verification and level progression continue on a rolling basis afterward. Summit eligibility: Founders verified at confirmthreshold,e.g.Nationallevelandaboveconfirm threshold, e.g. National level and above are invited to the fully funded, 3-day residential summit. Rules: One project per founder/team. The project must be original and not submitted to any other competition or platform. The project must be demonstrably linked to at least one UN Sustainable Development Goal. All team members must be from the same college and the same specialization/field of study; no inter-college or inter-specialization teams. Founder Pass registration at PortAhead.com is mandatory before a project can be submitted for verification. All claims of impact are subject to independent auditor verification. Fabricated evidence, plagiarism, or misrepresentation of results will result in disqualification. Decisions of the IFSPD Europe evaluation and auditing panel are final and binding. Registration and project submission must be completed by 30 September 2026.
