StackSense Challenge

Overview Engineer an Intelligent Tech Stack Recommendation Engine! About the Event: Build an intelligent tech stack recommendation engine in the StackSense Challenge, a fully online systems-design competition at Synergy ’26! Participants must engineer an engine that processes project parameters—including scale, team size, budget, and infrastructure constraints—and outputs an optimal combination of frontend, backend, database, and hosting tools, backed by rigorous architectural reasoning. Submission Instructions: Drive Folder Contents Required: Source Code: Includes a comprehensive README.md covering system architecture and local setup instructions. Project Report (PDF): Details system design, input parameters collected, sample recommendation screenshots, and edge-case handling. Demo Video: A 2–3 minute video demonstrating the functional recommendation engine in action. Rules & Regulations: Participation: Strictly individual; no team submissions or multi-member collaborations are allowed. Third-Party Tools: Publicly available APIs, datasets, or open-source libraries are permitted, provided they are explicitly cited in the project report. Originality: Submissions must be original. Plagiarized or pre-existing projects will result in immediate disqualification. Decisions: All decisions made by the organizing and judging panels are final. Evaluation Criteria: Recommendation Quality (35%): Correctness and architectural fit of the recommended stack against given project constraints. Input Design & Research (30%): Depth, relevance, and technical research behind the requirement-gathering process. Reasoning & Explainability (20%): Quality of technical justification provided for each recommended component. Documentation & Demo Quality (15%): Report clarity, screenshot evidence, and execution of the live video demo.
