About this hackathon
PARALLAX 2026 – Reality, Reimagined
PARALLAX 2026 is an inter-college hackathon focused on Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Extended Reality (XR). The hackathon challenges students to think beyond conventional applications and build innovative, immersive solutions to real-world problems.
Participants will explore the potential of immersive technologies to transform education, healthcare, tourism, gaming, industry, entertainment, and other real-world domains.
Theme: Reality, Reimagined.
The goal is to create solutions that demonstrate how AR/VR/XR can solve problems, enhance experiences, and create meaningful real-world impact.
Hackathon Structure
Round 1 – Online Assessment
The first round will be conducted online and will consist of a technical assessment designed to evaluate participants' knowledge of:
AR/VR/XR fundamentals
Unity & Unreal Engine
3D graphics and modelling
Computer vision
Game development
Immersive technologies
Problem-solving and logical thinking
Participants/teams qualifying this round will advance to the next rounds.
Round 2 – Ideation and PPT Submission
Shortlisted teams will participate in this round.
Teams will develop an AR/VR/XR-based solution around the given problem statement(s) and present a working prototype with demonstration video and PPT submission.
Participants will be evaluated on:
Innovation
Technical implementation
Use of AR/VR/XR
Problem-solving approach
Real-world impact
User experience
Round 3 – Grand Finale
The top-performing teams from Round 2 will qualify for the Grand Finale.
Finalists will present their solution and demonstrate their working model before a panel of judges.
This round will also be online.
The final evaluation will consider:
Innovation & originality
Technical complexity
AR/VR/XR implementation
Practical impact
Scalability
UI/UX
Presentation & Q&A
Eligibility
Open to college students from across India.
Students from any engineering/technology or related discipline can participate.
Participation will be in teams of 1–4 members.(Either individual)
Participants must carry a valid college ID during the offline rounds.
