About the Opportunity:
MalanHack 2026, organized by Malan Softech Private Limited, is a national-level innovation sprint designed to unearth high-impact, real-world problems and technically viable solutions. Unlike conventional coding hackathons, this competition focuses on end-to-end technological blueprints backed by market benchmarking, multi-country product research, and sustainable commercialization strategies.
Eligibility & Team Composition:
Academic Level: Open to all undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma students from recognized universities/institutions, as well as early-stage innovators and working professionals.
Team Size: 1 to 4 members per team.
Inter-College Teams: Allowed. Members can belong to different colleges, universities, or organizations.
Inter-Specialization Teams: Allowed. Cross-functional teams combining engineering, business, data science, and design disciplines are strongly encouraged.
Multiple Teams: A participant cannot be part of more than one team in the competition.
Competition Format & Stages:
Problem Statement Scope: Open Theme. Teams may identify any critical real-world problem across domains including FinTech, HealthTech, Supply Chain, CleanTech, Enterprise AI, or AgriTech. Teams must select and define one primary problem statement to solve.
Format: Multi-stage evaluation consisting of screening, detailed deck submission, and final live pitching.

Round Description * In this opening screening round, teams must identify a critical real-world problem and submit a detailed presentation deck and supporting documentation outlining the technological and commercial blueprint to solve it. Submissions must strictly cover all foundational business and implementation pillars:
Document & Executive Summary: Core problem statement, real-world relevance, and technological architecture overview.
Market Gaps & Global Benchmarking: Systematic identification of existing market loopholes and analysis of current solutions/products across different countries with validated references.
Implementation & Tech Stack Expense: Cost breakdown for infrastructure, APIs, hosting, deployment, and engineering licenses.
R&D (Research & Development) Expense: Estimated budget allocated toward testing, algorithmic design, model training, and continuous innovation.
Marketing & Customer Acquisition Expense: Clear Go-To-Market (GTM) roadmap, CAC projections, and promotional budget.
Revenue Model: Clear breakdown of revenue streams, pricing models, and projected profitability.
Format: Online Document & PPT Upload (PDF format, 12–18 slides).
Round 2: Virtual Screening & Presentation Pitch

Round Description *
Shortlisted teams from Round 1 will be invited to present their submission live before an expert panel.
Format: Online video conference.
Structure: 10-minute presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A session.
Focus: Deep dive into the proposed technology, market viability, research citations, and unit economics.
Outcome: The evaluation committee will evaluate all presentations and select the Top 3 Finalist Teams to advance to the Grand Finale.
Round 3: Grand Finale — Pitch to the Founder

Round Description * The final stage where the Top 3 finalist teams present their end-to-end proposals directly to the Founder and executive leadership of Malan Softech Private Limited.
Format: Offline (or Online mode if required). If conducted offline, 100% travel and accommodation compensation/reimbursement will be provided to the qualifying teams by Malan Softech.
Structure: Comprehensive executive pitch followed by an in-depth strategic and commercial critique directly with the Founder.
Prizes Awarded: Direct selection and distribution of the prize pool:
Winner (1st Prize): ₹1,75,000 INR
1st Runner-Up (2nd Prize): ₹75,000 INR
2nd Runner-Up (3rd Prize): ₹50,000 INR
Rules & Guidelines:
Originality: Submissions must be the original work of the registered team. Plagiarism, fabricated data, or misattributed research will result in immediate disqualification.
Fact-Based Research: All market sizes, competitor claims, and statistical data must include verifiable citations/references.
Submission Deadlines: All deliverables must be uploaded to the portal before the stipulated deadlines. Late submissions will not be evaluated.
Intellectual Property: Teams retain 100% intellectual property ownership of their ideas and solutions.
Jury Decision: The evaluation committee's decisions regarding scoring, shortlisting, and final prize distributions are final and binding.
