Hackathon Domains Participants can propose and develop projects across the following domains. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Explore AI-powered solutions that automate processes, improve decision-making, enhance productivity, and solve practical problems. Potential areas include intelligent assistants, predictive analytics, machine learning applications, AI-powered education tools, cybersecurity, and responsible AI systems. Web Technologies Build modern, responsive, and user-friendly web applications that improve digital experiences. Ideas may include productivity platforms, educational portals, community applications, business tools, accessibility solutions, and full-stack web products. Financial Technology (FinTech) Develop technology-driven solutions that improve financial accessibility, transparency, financial literacy, payments, budgeting, expense management, or other financial processes. Web3 and Blockchain Explore decentralized technologies, blockchain-based applications, digital identity, transparent systems, smart contracts, and other relevant use cases where decentralized architecture offers meaningful benefits. Open Source Create tools, applications, developer utilities, or community-oriented projects that encourage collaboration, transparency, accessibility, and reusable technology. Emerging Technologies and Open Innovation Participants may also propose ideas involving other emerging technologies or interdisciplinary approaches, provided their projects address a clear problem and demonstrate meaningful technical innovation. These domains are intended to encourage exploration. The quality, feasibility, originality, and potential impact of a solution will be more important than simply choosing a particular technology. Participation and First-Round Selection India Got Spot 1.0 will follow an initial project idea submission round, followed by shortlisting for the offline hackathon. Round 1: Project Idea Submission: Participants will submit a PowerPoint presentation explaining their proposed project. The presentation should clearly communicate the problem, the intended solution, its target users, the proposed technology stack, and the expected impact. The PPT should include: Project title and a brief introduction. Problem statement and the issue being addressed. Proposed solution and its key features. Target audience or intended beneficiaries. Proposed technology stack and implementation approach. Innovation, uniqueness, and potential impact. A basic development plan or prototype concept. Participants should focus on clarity, feasibility, originality, and the value their idea can deliver. A well-defined problem and a practical solution are preferable to an unnecessarily complicated concept. Shortlisting Process Submitted ideas will be reviewed according to the announced evaluation criteria. Projects demonstrating a clear problem statement, a feasible implementation plan, originality, technical relevance, and meaningful potential impact may be shortlisted. Shortlisted participants will receive the relevant instructions regarding confirmation, reporting, team arrangements, and event participation. The submission deadline, shortlisting announcement, team-size rules, and final submission instructions will be communicated through the official event channels. The 12-Hour Offline Building Experience The main hackathon will take place on 15 February 2027, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. During the event, shortlisted participants will work on their proposed projects, refine their concepts, develop functional prototypes, and prepare their final demonstrations. The 12-hour format encourages participants to manage time effectively, prioritize essential features, collaborate efficiently, and focus on building a solution that demonstrates its core purpose. Participants are encouraged to develop working prototypes rather than relying exclusively on presentations. Depending on their project, a demonstration may include a functioning web application, an AI-powered workflow, a technical prototype, a blockchain-based implementation, or another suitable proof of concept. The emphasis will be on demonstrating the project's core functionality, explaining technical decisions, communicating its practical value, and showing how it addresses the identified problem. Project Development and Deliverables Participants should aim to complete a meaningful prototype within the available development window. Projects should demonstrate a clear connection between the identified problem and the proposed solution. Depending on the nature of the project, expected deliverables may include: A working prototype or minimum viable product (MVP). A project presentation explaining the problem and solution. A clear demonstration of the major features. A description of the technology stack and implementation approach. A repository or relevant project files, where applicable. A brief explanation of future improvements and scalability. Participants should ensure that their projects are presented honestly. Any third-party APIs, datasets, open-source libraries, AI tools, or external services used should be acknowledged where appropriate. A polished prototype is valuable, but a project will also be assessed on its problem-solving approach, technical reasoning, originality, and potential usefulness. Judging Criteria Projects may be evaluated across the following proposed parameters: Innovation and Originality: The uniqueness of the idea and how creatively it approaches the identified problem. Problem Relevance: How clearly the project identifies a genuine problem and addresses the needs of its intended users. Technical Implementation: The quality of the implementation, appropriate use of technology, and demonstrated functionality. Feasibility and Practicality: Whether the proposed solution can realistically be developed, used, and improved. User Experience and Design: The usability, accessibility, interface clarity, and overall quality of the solution. Impact and Scalability: The project's potential to benefit users and grow beyond the initial prototype. Presentation and Demonstration: The clarity of the final explanation, demonstration, and responses to evaluators' questions. The final evaluation framework, parameter weightings, and scoring methodology will be communicated by the organizing team before or during the event. Prize Pool and Recognition India Got Spot 1.0 features a total prize pool of ₹30,000, intended to recognize outstanding innovation, technical execution, and problem-solving. The prize distribution, award categories, eligibility requirements, and any additional recognition will be announced through the official event communication channels.
