About this hackathon

The Black-Box Protocol: Stage 03 — “System Convergence” The 36-Hour Hackathon Mirage Is Dead. Conventional hackathons often end where the real engineering begins. Developers build rushed prototypes, prepare a final presentation, demonstrate a concept, and walk away. The code may work for a few minutes—but the system rarely survives beyond the closing ceremony. This is the Mirage. The Black-Box Protocol was engineered to break that cycle. Stage 03 // “System Convergence” is a 36-hour, high-intensity offline engineering crucible designed to push builders beyond prototypes and towards systems that demonstrate architectural resilience, technical depth, real-world utility, and long-term scalability. No forced tracks. No predefined problem statements. No restricted technology stack. You choose the problem. You design the architecture. You build the system. Welcome to Stage 03 // “System Convergence.” Are you ready to build systems that survive? The 2-Round Architecture & Execution Model To maintain a high-quality technical ecosystem, the hackathon follows a structured two-round pipeline. To reach the final 36-hour build arena, teams must clear the initial registration and screening process before entering the physical engineering crucible. Round 01 // Registration & Initial System Screening Online Registration & Idea Screening Registration Opens: August 28, 2026 Registration Deadline: September 25, 2026 | 11:59 PM IST Shortlist Announcement: September 28, 2026 RSVP Confirmation: September 29, 2026 Round 01 Execution Model Portal Onboarding: Register your team and submit the required participant and team details. Each team must consist of 2–4 members. Every participating team must include at least one female builder. Teams without female representation will be disqualified during the initial screening process. Preliminary Idea Pitch: Stage 03 follows a strict 100% Open Innovation model. There are no artificial domain restrictions or mandatory tracks. Teams are free to identify any meaningful real-world problem and develop a solution using their preferred technologies, frameworks, programming languages, protocols, and development methodologies. The Initial System Filter: Submitted teams and ideas will undergo an initial screening process before the final shortlist is announced. The objective is to identify teams capable of participating in a high-intensity engineering environment and developing meaningful, technically viable solutions. Shortlist Announcement: September 28, 2026. Approximately 75–90 teams will be shortlisted for the offline hackathon. RSVP & Final Confirmation: October 1, 2026. Shortlisted teams must complete their final RSVP confirmation, travel verification, and participant credentialing. Only confirmed teams proceed to the 36-hour System Convergence. Round 02 // The 36-Hour System Convergence Offline Engineering Crucible Date: October 6–7, 2026 Location: Kurukshetra, Haryana Duration: 36 Hours — Non-Stop Scale: Approximately 300–350 builders across 75–90 teams This is where the real protocol begins. No presentation-first approach. No prototype-only evaluation. You build. You test. You deploy. You prove. Round 02 Execution Model — Step by Step Hour 00 // Ingestion & Deployment Participant Check-In Physical verification, ID kit distribution, table allotment, and network setup. Opening Briefing Protocol orientation, evaluation rubric briefing, and mentor introductions. Hacking Commences Hour 00:00 Repository creation, initial commit verification, and the 36-hour build officially begins. Hour 08 // Checkpoint 01 — Architecture Audit Mentors conduct the first structured diagnostic review. The audit focuses on: System architecture Database selection API design System schemas Scope feasibility Architectural weaknesses The objective is to identify unviable scope and structural problems before they become critical failures. Hour 18 // Checkpoint 02 — Stress-Test Clinic The second diagnostic intervention pushes the system under pressure. Focus areas include: Backend load handling Concurrency API limitations Security Reliability Backend debugging Your system doesn't just need to work. It needs to withstand stress. Hour 28 // Checkpoint 03 — Viability Polish The final mentor intervention focuses on transforming a working build into a convincing product. Teams receive guidance on: UX smoothness User onboarding Deployment health Product viability Live demonstration flow Pitch refinement Hour 34 // Code Freeze October 7 The repository enters absolute freeze. No commits will be accepted after the deadline. All teams must have their final working systems ready for evaluation. Hour 34+ // Tier-1 Table-Side Scrutiny Four parallel judging pools evaluate the participating teams. Each team receives: 3-Minute Live Demo 2-Minute Q&A No dry pitching. No presentation-only evaluation. Show the system. Run the system. Defend the system. The Top 10 teams advance to the Grand Stage. Hour 36 // The Grand Stage The Top 10 finalists pitch their systems live before the grand jury and audience. 4-Minute Pitch 2-Minute Jury Q&A This is the final test of your: Technical execution Problem understanding Product thinking Scalability Business viability Communication Awards & Incubation Reveal 8 October 2026 The final winners are announced. Cash rewards, internships, goodies, merchandise, and post-hackathon opportunities are revealed. The 100% Open Innovation Horizon There are zero restricted tracks. You are not limited to a predefined theme. Build wherever the problem takes you. Builder Horizons Autonomous AI agents & generative systems Distributed networks Cryptographic & Web3 protocols Enterprise developer tooling Cloud infrastructure DevOps FinTech Healthcare Logistics Cyber Defense IoT High-complexity consumer applications Any other meaningful real-world challenge The domain is yours. The engineering is yours. The system is yours. The Universal Technical Benchmark Every project will be tested against core engineering benchmarks. Architecture Resilience Clean modular boundaries and maintainability. Security & Error Handling Ability to withstand failures and edge cases. Execution Completeness A fully functioning live system with zero mock data. Real-World Utility Measurable impact and clear adoption logic. Registration Compliance & Protocol Rules Fresh Codebase Open-source packages and APIs are permitted. Pre-built private codebases will lead to immediate disqualification. Repository Integrity All code must be authored and systematically committed during the active 36-hour build window. 100% Builder IP All code, designs, and intellectual property remain 100% owned by the participating teams. Team Integrity Team-member swaps after on-ground check-in are strictly prohibited. Zero Tolerance A strict anti-harassment policy will be enforced to maintain a safe and inclusive environment. This Is System Convergence A problem is only the beginning. An idea is not a product. A prototype is not a system. And a demo is not proof. Build the architecture.Survive the stress.Deploy the system.Prove the utility. The Black-Box Protocol: Stage 03 — System Convergence is built for developers, designers, founders, and builders who want to move beyond temporary prototypes and engineer solutions capable of surviving the real world. 36 HOURS.75–90 TEAMS.300–350 BUILDERS.ONE SYSTEM TO PROVE.
