Eligibility:
The hackathon is open to college/university students.
Participants must register as teams.
Teams should provide accurate participant and college details during registration.
Participants from different colleges/universities may form a team.
Participants from different specializations/branches are allowed to form a team.
A team may combine students with different technical backgrounds, such as CSE, IT, ECE, AI/ML, Design, etc.
Each team must nominate one member as the primary point of contact.
Team Format:
Teams will work together as THE CREW throughout the hackathon.
Inter-college teams are allowed.
Inter-specialization/inter-branch teams are allowed.
Teams should have 1-3 members.
Each participant can be part of only one team.
Hackathon Format:
GTA: HACK CITY consists of 2 rounds:
Round 1 — The Getaway: Wanted: Build Mode
All participating teams receive the same GTA-themed problem statement.
The problem statement focuses on solving a practical urban, student, or community problem.
Teams must analyze the problem, design their approach, and develop a prototype or working solution.
Technologies such as Web, Mobile, AI/ML, Data, Cloud, IoT, Cybersecurity, or other relevant technologies may be used.
Teams must submit their project along with the required documentation and demo/repository links.
Vibe coding allowed.
Number of problem statements: 1 common problem statement.
At the end of Round 1, judges will evaluate all valid submissions and select the TOP 10 TEAMS for the final round.
Round 2 — The Final Heist: Los Santos Showdown
The Top 10 teams will refine and improve their solutions.
Teams will prepare their final presentation and live product demonstration.
Each finalist will present their solution before the judging panel.
Pitch + Product Demonstration: 5–7 minutes
Judges' Q&A: 3–5 minutes
Final scores will be calculated by the judging panel and winners will be announced.

Problem being addressed
Proposed solution
Key features
Technology stack
Working prototype/demo/repository link, where applicable
Short demo video or presentation, if required by organizers
Brief explanation of the expected impact of the solution
Important Deadlines:
Round 1 Submission: 10th October 2026
Top 10 Announcement: 11th October 2026
Round 2 / Final Heist: 11th October 2026
Final Presentation: 11th October 2026
Participants should monitor official announcements for any schedule updates.
Rules:
Each participant may register with only one team.
Teams must submit their work before the announced deadline.
Submissions must contain accurate team/member information.
Teams must clearly distinguish between functional features and conceptual features in their prototype.
Any technology stack may be used if it is relevant to the proposed solution.
Teams must be able to explain and demonstrate their submitted project during the evaluation.
Participants must not submit plagiarized work or falsely claim ownership of another person's/project's work.
Teams must comply with all instructions and deadlines announced by the organizers.
The judges' evaluation and final decision regarding qualification and winners will be considered final.
The GTA theme is a fictional storytelling layer. Participants are not required to reproduce copyrighted GTA characters, assets, or game mechanics.
