Nari Kavach – Women Safety Innovation Challenge:
Nari Kavach – Women Safety Innovation Challenge is a women-centric innovation challenge organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering (WiE) Affinity Group, Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi, as part of IEEE Yantrika 1.0: Innovate & Elevate.
The challenge invites B.Tech and B.E. students to identify real-world safety challenges faced by women and develop practical, technology-driven solutions with meaningful social impact. Participants can leverage technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT, smart wearables, cybersecurity and related technologies to build innovative solutions.
Key Information:
Eligibility: Open to B.Tech and B.E. students across all academic years and branches.
Team Size: 2–4 Members.
Event Type: Innovation Challenge / Mini Hackathon.
Mode: Online Preliminary Screening + Offline Final.

Competition Themes:
Participants can choose one of the following themes and develop a solution addressing a specific problem within that domain.
Women's Personal Safety: Focus on technologies that help individuals prevent, respond to and manage emergency situations. Solutions can address challenges such as unsafe travel, emergencies in isolated locations, or situations where immediate assistance is required.
Smart Wearables: Develop discreet, real-time safety technologies that can be integrated into wearable devices and activated when conventional smartphone-based interaction may not be practical.
AI For Safety: Use Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to identify potential threats, detect distress situations and support faster safety responses.
Cyber Safety: Focus on protecting women from online threats, digital harassment, scams and privacy-related risks.
Community Safety: Develop solutions that improve safety at a collective, institutional or community level.
Championship Structure:
1. Preliminary Round — Online Proposal Screening:
All registered teams will submit a 5-slide PPT proposal presenting their proposed solution.
The PPT should cover:
Slide 1 — Problem Statement: The safety challenge being addressed, its background and significance.
Slide 2 — Problem Analysis: Existing approaches, limitations and identified opportunity gaps.
Slide 3 — Proposed Solution: Key features, functionality and how the proposed solution addresses the problem.
Slide 4 — Technical Architecture: System architecture, technologies, frameworks and data flow.
Slide 5 — Expected Impact: Anticipated benefits, scalability, social impact and future scope.
Offline Innovation Challenge:
The final round will be conducted offline at the Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi.
Participants will get 160 minutes to create/develop their solution and prepare their pitch deck for presentation.
Teams will then present their solution to the judges, explaining their problem, proposed solution, technical approach, implementation and demonstration.
Hardware-based teams must bring all the required hardware components, equipment and materials needed to build and demonstrate their solution.
During the development phase, participants may use internet access, open-source libraries, public APIs, AI-assisted development tools and cloud platforms.
Prizes & Certificates:
Total Prize Pool: ₹10,000
All finalists will receive certificates of participation, while winners will receive certificates of achievement along with the prize money.

Rules & Terms:
Participation is open only to B.Tech and B.E. students.
Teams must consist of 2–4 members.
Each team must select one of the five official competition themes.
Teams must submit their 5-slide PPT by the specified deadline.
Hardware-based teams must bring their own hardware, components and other required materials.
Participants may use internet access, open-source libraries, public APIs, AI-assisted development tools and cloud platforms during the development phase.
Teams must present and demonstrate their solution within the allotted time.
Participants must follow all instructions provided by the organizers and judges.
The decisions of the organizing team and judges regarding the competition and results will be final and binding.
