Welcome to Horizon — by Hoollow! Horizon is an offline Software Development hackathon by Hoollow, built for students and young builders who want to turn ideas into working products. From building your first MVP online to competing in an intense 24-hour offline development round in Delhi, Horizon is designed to take you beyond just coding — into problem-solving, product thinking, teamwork, and real-world execution. Whether you're a beginner exploring software development or an experienced builder, Horizon gives you a platform to build, compete, connect, and get recognized. About the Opportunity Horizon is more than a conventional hackathon. It is a two-stage building experience focused on turning ideas into practical software solutions. Throughout the hackathon, participants will develop skills across: Software Development Product Thinking Project Management Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Problem Solving Teamwork & Collaboration Innovation & Execution Hackathon Format Horizon consists of two competitive rounds. Round 1 — Online MVP Challenge Participants will build and submit a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) based on the given theme. Theme: AI with Education Problem Statement: Teams can explore ideas across areas such as: Education Productivity Accessibility Communication Local Services Sustainability Student Life There are no restrictions on your technology stack or development tools. Teams are encouraged to use the technologies they are most comfortable with, including AI tools. Submission Requirements Your submission should include: Project description Working MVP 2–3 minute demo video GitHub repository Live demo, if available Projects will be evaluated based on factors such as: Innovation Core functionality Feasibility Problem understanding Execution Shortlisting The Top 50 teams from Round 1 will be shortlisted for the offline round. However, only the first 30 shortlisted teams to confirm their participation will secure their Round 2 spot. Round 2 — In-Person Delhi Hackathon The shortlisted teams will come together in New Delhi for an intensive 24-hour offline development challenge. This is where Horizon gets serious. Teams will receive a new problem statement/challenge in person at the venue and will be required to build, adapt, or extend their solution within the given timeframe. The round will test: Speed of execution Technical ability Product thinking Creativity Team coordination Problem solving Scalability The exact venue and detailed instructions will be shared with selected participants. Who Can Participate? Horizon is open to students and young builders interested in software development and innovation.
