About this hackathon
About the Competition
Vihaan X is one of North India's largest student-run hackathons, organized by IEEE DTU.
The Hardware Track challenges participants to turn innovative ideas into tangible, working prototypes that solve real-world problems.
Teams collaborate under time pressure, designing and building functional hardware solutions within an intensive 24-hour sprint.
The track is built around creativity, technical experimentation, and genuine hands-on engineering — not just theory.
It's a platform where builders think fast, iterate faster, and walk away with something real.
Hardware Track Domains
IoT – Connected devices and intelligent systems
AgriTech – Technology for modern agriculture and farming
Smart City & Civic Tech – Urban infrastructure and governance solutions
Sustainability – Climate-conscious and eco-friendly innovations
Open Innovation – Build anything innovative beyond the defined tracks; bring your own unique idea to life
Team Size
Maximum of 4 participants per team.
Rounds:
Day 1: Building and developing projects, from core features to a working prototype
Day 2 (around 10 AM): Project evaluation and judging
Final Round: Shortlisted teams present to industry experts
Winners are announced after final presentations improvise it
Learning Opportunities
Direct mentorship from experienced industry professionals throughout the event
Hands-on exposure to circuit design, prototyping, and hardware development
Real-world engineering practice built on teamwork and collaborative problem-solving
Rewards
Exciting cash prizes and exclusive rewards for winning teams
Recognition for the most innovative and impactful hardware solutions
The Opportunity
Vihaan X creates an electrifying environment where creativity, teamwork, and innovation collide.
Participants don't just build prototypes — they build practical, real-world experience in hardware development.
Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned builder, this is 24 hours to prove what you can create.
