About The Hackathon: VELORA 1.0 is a premier 24-hour national-level hackathon designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. The event brings together student developers, designers, and innovators to build real-world technology solutions in a competitive environment. Participants will showcase skills in rapid prototyping, system design, and collaborative problem-solving. The hackathon is suitable for both beginners seeking exposure and experienced participants aiming to compete for top prizes. Hackathon Themes & Domains: Participants can build solutions across the following domains: Cybersecurity FinTech EdTech MedTech Agentic AI / Artificial Intelligence Web3 & Blockchain Open Innovation Cybersecurity Ideas: Adaptive Phishing Defense Network – ML-powered system that analyzes threat metadata and generates personalized phishing training simulations. IoT Device Vulnerability Scanner – A network scanner that detects vulnerabilities in smart devices and suggests automated patches. Privacy-Preserving Incident Response – A collaborative platform using homomorphic encryption to share threat intelligence securely. FinTech Ideas: Micro-Insurance Claim Predictor – AI mobile app that automates micro-insurance claims using sensor data and weather APIs. Sustainable Investment Tracker – Blockchain-based portfolio tracker using ESG metrics. Peer-to-Peer Lending Risk Engine – Lending platform using Graph Neural Networks to assess borrower risk and manage smart contract disbursals. EdTech Ideas: Multilingual Code Mentor AI – Voice-to-code tutor supporting regional Indian languages. Collaborative Skill Gap Analyzer – NLP platform that analyzes resumes and GitHub repositories to identify skill gaps. AR Campus Navigator – AR-based navigation system for visually impaired students using computer vision and audio guidance. MedTech Ideas: Wearable Stress Biomarker Predictor – App that analyzes wearable health data to predict stress biomarkers. Tele-Dermatology Triage Bot – WhatsApp-based bot using CNNs to analyze skin conditions. Personalized Nutrition Planner – Reinforcement learning system generating meal plans for diabetic patients. Agentic AI / Artificial Intelligence Ideas: Autonomous Hackathon Idea Generator – A multi-agent AI system that generates hackathon ideas and pitch decks. Personal Research Assistant Swarm – AI agents that analyze research queries and generate cited reports. Adaptive Gaming Companion Agent – AI companion that provides real-time gaming strategy tips. Web3 & Blockchain Ideas: Decentralized Academic Credential Verifier – Blockchain-based academic credential verification using zero-knowledge proofs. Carbon Credit Trading Marketplace – Web3 marketplace for trading tokenized carbon credits. DAO For Campus Event Funding – Student-run decentralized funding system for campus events. Open Innovation: Participants can develop any innovative solution outside the listed domains that solves real-world problems. Hackathon Stages & Format: Round 1 – Idea / PPT Submission (Online): Teams must register and submit their details along with a presentation explaining their proposed solution. The presentation must include the problem statement, technical approach, and expected impact. Teams must also submit a 5–6 minute video demonstrating the working of their prototype. Deadline: 30 March 2026 Round 2 – Evaluation & Pitching Scrutiny: Teams will present their ideas to the evaluation panel. Early submissions may undergo online or offline evaluation starting from 26 March 2026. Evaluation will be based on: Clarity of problem understanding Innovation and feasibility Technical approach Quality of presentation The top teams will be shortlisted for the grand finale. Round 3 – 24-Hour Grand Finale: Dates: 11 – 12 April 2026 Location: MIT Academy of Engineering, Alandi During the finale: Shortlisted teams will participate in a continuous 24-hour development sprint. Teams will build a working prototype from scratch. Mentors will guide participants throughout the hackathon. Midnight progress reviews and final project demonstrations will be conducted. Eligibility & Team Details: Open to all undergraduate students from recognized colleges and institutes. Team size: 2 – 5 members Cross-college teams are allowed Why Participate: Industry mentorship from experienced professionals Opportunity to solve real-world industry problems Networking with developers, innovators, and recruiters Experience a full 24-hour offline hackathon environment with high-speed Wi-Fi, continuous power supply, and midnight snacks.
