Event Details: Date: 24 October 2026 Time: 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM Venue: Tennis Court, I.T.S Engineering College, Greater Noida Registration Fee: ₹300 per team Prize Pool: ₹15,000 Team Size: 2 participants per team Coordinator: Miss Diksha Singh Event Description: The Senior Robo Race challenges teams to design and build a manually controlled, wireless robot capable of navigating an obstacle-filled track and completing the entire circuit in the shortest possible time. Teams are evaluated on speed, agility, obstacle handling, and strategic decision-making under a continuously running clock. Guidelines: Eligibility & Team Composition: Team Size: Maximum 2 members per team. Open to students from any academic institution — inter-college and inter-specialisation teams are allowed. Valid institutional ID is mandatory. Only registered team members may participate. Robot Specifications: Maximum Dimensions: 350 × 350 mm (L × B). Maximum Weight: 3 kg, including the battery. Power Supply: Maximum 6S LiPo / 12V DC / 3S (fully charged) across any two terminals. IC engines and compressors are not permitted. Control: Wireless, manual control only. Autonomous robots are strictly prohibited. Ready-made toy cars are not allowed; the robot must be custom-built by the team. The robot must complete the race without leaving any component behind. Pre-Event Technical Inspection: Teams must report to the arena at least 30 minutes before the official start. Every robot undergoes a technical inspection and weigh-in covering dimensions, weight, power supply, and construction. A robot failing to meet the specified requirements may be disqualified and barred from participating. Race Format: Qualifying Round: All registered teams compete; performance is ranked by total adjusted time. Final Round: Teams with the best qualifying times advance; the lowest overall adjusted time in the final wins. Race Track: Approximately 45 cm wide, which may vary at certain sections; angles will not exceed 30°. May include switch gates, downward slopes, seesaws, stone pits, rollers, rotating discs, tunnels, bumps, uneven surfaces, and surprise obstacles. Race Rules: The race timer starts on the official call and runs continuously. It is never paused or restarted for falls, resets, skips, or disputes. Checkpoints sit before and after each obstacle. If the robot falls or flips during an obstacle, it must be manually placed back at that obstacle's starting checkpoint. This counts as a Hand Touch. The robot must be powered on and ready at the start line when called. Failure to be ready immediately may result in disqualification. A false start before the official signal results in a restart; a second false start results in disqualification. Judging Criteria: This is a time-trial competition. The winner is determined by the lowest Adjusted Time, calculated as: Adjusted Time = Race Time + Boundary Penalties + Hand-Touch Penalties + Obstacle-Skip Penalties Boundary Penalty: +1 second per contact between the robot and the track boundary wall. Hand-Touch Penalty: +15 seconds per touch (maximum 3 per race). Obstacle-Skip Penalty: +20 seconds per skipped obstacle (maximum 2 per race). Disqualification: A team may be disqualified for: Exceeding the specified dimensions, weight, or power limit. Using an autonomous control system or a ready-made toy car instead of a custom-built robot. A 4th hand touch or a 3rd obstacle skip attempt. Losing any robot component during the race. Receiving unauthorised external assistance. A second false start. Misconduct, abusive language, harassment, or unsportsmanlike behaviour. Deliberate or reckless damage to the venue, track, or equipment. The decision of the judges and organising committee is final and binding regarding performance, penalties, disqualification, and competition-related disputes. Teams may formally appeal conduct-based or severe situational disputes, but the final verdict rests with the organisers.
