recHERsion 2026 | Women-Only Hackathon About recHERsion recHERsion 2026 is the flagship women-only hackathon organised by ACM-W, NITK Surathkal, as part of Engineer NITK 2K26, the institute's annual technical fest. This 24-hour online hackathon aims to empower women in technology by providing a platform to innovate, collaborate and develop practical, technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges. Tracks and Problem Statements Participants will be provided with three problem statements centred on key societal challenges, covering domains such as: Women's Safety: Personal safety, emergency response, cyber harassment and safer public spaces. Healthcare: Menstrual health, maternal care, reproductive health and mental well-being. Sustainability and Climate: Sustainable solutions addressing climate challenges affecting women. Accessibility: Assistive technologies and improved access to essential services. Education: Digital literacy, STEM education and equal learning opportunities. Financial Inclusion: Financial literacy, entrepreneurship and economic independence for women. Hackathon Format 1. Registration and Team Formation: Participants register in teams of 2–3 members. Inter-college teams are allowed. 2. Prototype Development: Teams develop functional prototypes addressing their selected problem statements using suitable technologies and tools. 3. Final Presentation and Evaluation: Teams demonstrate their prototypes before a judging panel. Evaluation will consider innovation, technical implementation, feasibility, problem relevance and potential impact.
