About this hackathon
About the Event:
Prompt-e-Thon is a premier three-stage hackathon combining Ideation, AI-powered Vibe Coding, Mentorship, and Prototype Development. The event offers participants a high-impact platform to transform innovative ideas into functional, real-world products with continuous guidance from industry-experienced mentors.
The event focuses on practical problem-solving, rapid prototyping, and the effective use of modern AI tools. It is aligned with the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
Round Wise Details:
Round 1: Ideation Round (Online PPT Submission)
Format: Online Screening.
Timeline: Conducted 5–6 days prior to the main event.
Mechanism: Participating teams submit a slide deck detailing their problem statement, proposed solution, target audience, key features, technology stack, and SDG alignment. Shortlisted teams qualify for the mentorship and development stages.
Round 2: Discord Mentorship Round (Online Sprint)
Format: 8-Hour Online Mentorship via Discord.
Mechanism: Shortlisted teams engage in interactive mentorship sessions. Mentors evaluate progress, help refine product visions, identify edge cases, and assist teams in making their solutions practical and scalable.
Bonus: Points earned during this round serve as a tie-breaker during the final judging process.
Round 3: Main Event (On-Ground Mentorship & Final Evaluation)
Location: On-Ground Venue.
Stage 1 (Table-to-Table Mentorship): Mentors visit each team's workstation to review prototypes and provide final feedback based on the Discord round. Teams get time to refine their builds before final judging.
Stage 2 (Final Evaluation & Live Demo): The judging panel conducts table visits where teams demonstrate their working prototypes, present their solution rationale, and explain their tech stack, user impact, and SDG integration.
Rules and Guidelines:
Eligibility & Team Size: Open to college students interested in software, AI, and product design. Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members.
AI & Tech Stack Policy (Vibe Coding):
There are no restrictions on tools or technologies!
Participants are free to use Generative AI tools, AI coding assistants, open-source GitHub repositories, APIs, frameworks, libraries, datasets, and low-code/no-code platforms.
Teams must be capable of explaining their core logic, system workflow, and prototype during evaluation.
Hardware & Requirements: Teams must bring their own laptops, chargers, and hardware peripherals. Teams should maintain project backups and ensure prototypes are ready for live demonstration.
Judging Criteria:
Innovation & Problem Relevance
Effective Use of AI & Vibe Coding Techniques
Prototype Functionality & User Experience
Feasibility, Scalability & Impact
Alignment with SDG 8 & SDG 9
Presentation & Quality of Live Demonstration
Code of Conduct: Respectful and professional behavior is mandatory. Plagiarism, misrepresentation, or disruptive conduct will lead to immediate disqualification.
Final Authority: The decision of the judging panel and organizing committee is final and binding.
