About this hackathon
All that you need to know about Hovermania
Rules:
Hovercraft Design: The hovercraft must be self-built (no readymade kits), with a maximum size of 60x60x50 cm and a minimum lift height of 3 cm at full throttle. Only electric motors are allowed, and metal propellers are prohibited.
Match Rules: In knockout rounds, teams must push opponents off the arena, with penalties for inactivity. In racing rounds, teams must follow the track, avoiding penalties for obstacles, human intervention, or deviating from the path.
Autonomy Bonus: Teams can integrate autonomous navigation for extra points. Successfully navigating checkpoints or entire track sections without manual control will earn bonus points.
Format:
Competition Stages: The event has two stages—Knockout Rounds (where hovercrafts battle in elimination rounds) and Racing Rounds (where hovercrafts navigate an obstacle track).
Advancement Criteria: Winners from knockout rounds move to the racing rounds. The final three teams based on points from the racing rounds, compete for the championship.
Scoring System: Racing points are awarded based on successful track navigation, obstacle avoidance, and time taken. The final score is calculated as Total Points - Time Taken (seconds).
