About this hackathon

Hosted by LIaiSE x Frame Fellowship, supported by BlueDot ImpactSaturday 22 August | 9:30 AM – 9 PM, Central LondonThe stories being told about AI risks right now will shape how policymakers regulate it, how the media covers it, and how the public feels about it. There is a big gap between the AI safety research that happens and what the public understands, including policymakers who make decisions around these risks. This is your chance to close that gap. Turn complex safety concepts into concrete, high-impact artefacts - it can be a one-page briefing a policymaker will actually read, an explainer that travels online, a content video that lands with the public or a viral news piece! Who's this for? You are curious about AI safety and want to learn more about risks by applying your creative ideas. No coding required. Please bring your laptops and any equipment (camera, mic, etc.) you might need during the hackathon. We provide the themes; you find the best medium to communicate them. We’ll have AI safety organisations and AI safety content specialists speaking and mentoring. (More updates soon!) PrizesWinning team gets up to £500 in cash prize & a mentorship session with Akshyae, Founder, Frame Fellowship (San Francisco) Schedule 09:30 - Doors open & breakfast10:00 - Kickoff presentation & logistics10:30 - Speed networking11:00 - Get sprinting: teams allocation & project selection13:00 - Lunch & guest talk15:30 - The editorial clinic: feedback from our mentors18:00 - Final submission & Presentations19:00 - Dinner20:00 - Judging & guest talk21:00 - Results & wrap up! Spots are limited - apply early! We will provide meals on the day! About the organisers LIaiSE (London Interface for AI Safety) helps curious and motivated generalists from any background build the fluency, network, and footing to enter the Al safety field. Frame Fellowship is a 10-week San Francisco accelerator building the next generation of AI communicators - its fellows' work has been featured in The Washington Post and led to roles and funding across the AI safety ecosystem.Supporters:BlueDot Impact: building the workforce needed to safely navigate AGI.
