About this hackathon
Team Size:
1–4 members. Teams must be finalized before the event; no switching mid-hackathon.
Format — 3 Rounds:
Round 1: PPT Submission (₹250 registration): Each team selects a domain and submits an abstract/PPT solution for it. Submissions are evaluated on innovation, feasibility, and relevance. Shortlisted teams advance to the offline hackathon and their selected domain carries forward to Round 2.
Round 2: 24-Hour Offline Hackathon8th–9th October 2026 | FCRIT, Vashi
Your domain from Round 1 stays fixed it does not change. At check-in, each team picks a color, which maps to one of three options within your domain: Problem Statement 1, Problem Statement 2, or Open Innovation. The mapping is revealed at the Inauguration Ceremony.
Teams assigned a predefined problem statement must work on it as is no switching.
Teams assigned Open Innovation have the flexibility to either stay with Open Innovation or switch to one of the two predefined problem statements in their domain, if they prefer more structure.
This keeps the process fair everyone works within the expertise they've already committed to, the exact challenge stays a surprise until the event starts, and teams that land on Open Innovation aren't locked out of a more defined problem if they'd rather have one.
Teams build and submit progress through scheduled Git check-ins, with mentoring support throughout. The top 10 teams from Round 2 advance to the final.
Round 3: Final Evaluation: Top 10 teams present before the jury: 7-minute presentation, 3-minute Q&A. A live working prototype demonstration is mandatory.
