Grevix AfterCode is a 24-hour online solo hackathon built around one simple idea:
One Builder. One Idea. 24 Hours. No Boundaries.
Unlike traditional hackathons, participants are not given a fixed problem statement. You choose the problem you want to solve, decide what you want to build, and choose the tools and technologies you want to use.
AI coding agents, APIs, no-code/low-code platforms, design tools, open-source technologies, and traditional development are all allowed.
But there is a twist.
During the 24-hour challenge, your original plan will be disrupted by unexpected challenges.
The goal is not just to see what you can build.
It is to see how well you can adapt when the plan changes.
The AfterCode Challenge System
The hackathon is divided into 3 phases of 8 hours each.
Phase 1: Build
Hours 0–8
Start with an idea you genuinely want to build.
You decide:
What problem you want to solve
Who you are building for
What your product should do
Which technologies and tools you want to use
How you want to approach the problem
At the end of the first 8 hours, the first unexpected challenge will be revealed.
Phase 2: Adapt
Hours 8–16
Participants receive a Challenge Card containing a new requirement, constraint, or change.
The challenge may require you to:
Change your target user
Modify or remove a core feature
Change the intended use case
Introduce a new interaction
Work under a new constraint
Rethink your original solution
You decide how to respond.
You can adapt your product, rebuild it, simplify it, or completely change your approach.
At the end of the second 8-hour period, another Challenge Card will be revealed.
The Challenge Cards will not be revealed before the hackathon.
Phase 3: Rebuild & Ship
Hours 16–24
The second unexpected challenge is introduced.
You now have the final 8 hours to adapt your product, improve your solution, fix what matters, and prepare your final submission.
At the end of 24 hours, your product must be ready to ship.
Human + AI
AI tools are allowed and encouraged.
Participants may use AI coding agents, LLMs, APIs, AI design tools, and other AI-assisted development workflows.
However, participants remain responsible for:
Their decisions
Their implementation
Their use of AI-generated output
Their final submission
The core philosophy of AfterCode is:
AI can help execute. The builder decides what actually matters.
Eligibility
Open to everyone
Students, developers, professionals, freelancers, and independent builders can participate
No specific college, degree, specialization, or programming background is required
Participants can participate from any country, subject to applicable Unstop requirements
Participation is strictly individual
Team participation is not allowed
No college, specialization, or team-based restrictions apply
Technology Rules
There is no mandatory technology stack.
Participants may use:
AI coding agents
Large Language Models (LLMs)
APIs
No-code/low-code platforms
Design tools
Cloud services
Open-source software
Programming languages and frameworks of their choice
Participants are responsible for complying with the terms of service, licenses, and usage policies of the tools and services they use.
Submission
Participants must submit their completed project before the final submission deadline.
The submission may include:
Project name and description
Problem being solved
Solution overview
Working demo or live link, where applicable
Source code or repository, where applicable
Technologies and AI tools used
Short explanation of how the project evolved through the AfterCode challenges
Detailed submission instructions will be provided to registered participants before the submission window.
Judging Criteria
Projects will be evaluated using the following criteria:
Problem Significance — 25%
How meaningful and relevant is the problem being addressed?
Creativity & Originality — 20%
How unique, creative, and differentiated is the solution?
Execution & Functionality — 25%
How effectively does the product work, and how well has the idea been executed?
Effective Use of Technology/AI — 15%
How effectively are technology and AI being used to build and improve the solution?
Real-World Impact — 15%
What potential does the solution have to create meaningful real-world value?
The amount of code generated will not determine the winner.
Judges may also consider how effectively participants responded to the unexpected challenges introduced during the hackathon.
Build Log
Participants may be asked to document parts of their development journey through short checkpoints.
Examples include:
What did AI do?
What did you decide?
What did you reject?
The purpose is to capture the human decision-making behind the final product rather than evaluating only the final output.
Rules
Participation is strictly individual.
The project must be created during the official 24-hour hackathon period.
Participants may use existing libraries, frameworks, APIs, and development tools.
AI-assisted development is permitted.
Participants must not submit someone else's project as their own.
Plagiarism, fraudulent submissions, or deliberate misrepresentation may result in disqualification.
Participants must respect the terms of service and licenses of all third-party tools and resources used.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that their project does not violate applicable laws or third-party rights.
Challenge Cards must be followed according to the instructions provided during the event.
The final submission must be submitted before the official deadline.
Grevix reserves the right to disqualify submissions that violate the event rules or demonstrate dishonest participation.
Judges' decisions will be final.
