Opportunity Description: PromptX: Build with AI is a hands-on technical challenge focused on prompt engineering and real-world AI integration. Participants will work with a pre-built web application and leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate structured outputs dynamically. The event tests the ability to design precise prompts, control AI-generated responses, and ensure clean, well-structured outputs in a constrained development environment. Participants will be evaluated not only on the final output but also on how effectively they communicate with AI systems. Event Format: The competition will consist of 2 rounds: Qualifier and Final Participants will work on a provided code repository (frontend + backend) Teams must integrate an LLM using an API and design prompts to generate required outputs Only shortlisted teams from the qualifier round will advance to the final round Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate students Participation allowed individually or in teams (2–3 members) Cross-branch participation is allowed Rules & Guidelines: Participants must work only within the provided codebase Only prompt design and necessary backend/API integration should be modified The use of hardcoded/static outputs is strictly prohibited External templates or copying solutions from other sources is not allowed All outputs must be generated dynamically using an LLM and rendered in structured HTML format Participants must ensure their solution runs successfully at the time of evaluation Evaluation Criteria: Output Accuracy (40%) – Correctness and relevance of generated output Formatting & Structure (30%) – Clean HTML structure, alignment, and readability Prompt Engineering (30%) – Clarity, constraints, and effectiveness of prompts Important Instructions: Participants must bring their own laptops and required setup Internet access will be provided/allowed during the event Teams must adhere to the event schedule and instructions shared by coordinators Any form of plagiarism or unfair means will lead to disqualification Skills to be Assessed: Prompt Engineering API Integration Problem Solving Logical Thinking Basic Web Development (HTML/JS) Understanding of AI/LLM Behavior
