Purpose
Small homebuilders face increasing complexity in cost control, scheduling, inspections, procurement, and client communication. This collaborative hackathon brings together AEC digital practitioners and domain experts to develop practical, adoptable roadmaps for AI assisted dashboards that support day to day decision making in small scale residential construction.
This is not a competition and not a software build. It is a focused working session to create structured, domain specific guidance that small homebuilders can realistically implement.
Working Domains
Participants will work within six predefined operational domains:
š° Cash Flow and Budget Visibility
š Schedule Reliability and Trade Coordination
š Inspection and Permit Preparedness
š¦ Procurement Planning and Material Tracking
š Change Management and Client Transparency
š Site Activity Monitoring and Productivity Signals
Teams will be formed at the event based on attendance and assigned to one domain.
How the Session Works
The session follows a structured flow. Tasks and milestones will be introduced progressively during the morning.
Participants will not receive all tasks in advance!
Each domain team will move through guided stages and produce one structured roadmap for their assigned topic.
Expected Output
Each team will produce a clear, practical roadmap that includes:
A realistic small homebuilder scenarioKey information to captureEssential dashboard indicatorsExamples of meaningful AI assistanceA simple implementation pathway
ā BIMbc will compile all domain roadmaps into a published guidance package.
