About the Hackathon:
TEJAS India Hackathon 2026 is a National Level Hackathon organized by the Startup Cell, Government Engineering College, Jamui, in association with the Department of Computer Science & Engineering under the TEJAS India Hackathon – A DPIIT, Government of India Initiative.
The hackathon aims to bring together innovative students, developers, designers, entrepreneurs, and startup enthusiasts from across India to solve real-world challenges through technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, sustainability, software development, and entrepreneurship.
Participants will collaborate with teammates, receive mentorship from faculty members and industry experts, and develop impactful startup-oriented solutions that address real-world problems. The event promotes innovation, startup culture, technological excellence, and entrepreneurial thinking while encouraging students to transform ideas into scalable products and future startups.
Eligibility:
Open to Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, and Engineering students from recognized institutions across India.
Students from any branch or specialization are eligible to participate.
Inter-college teams are allowed.
Inter-specialization (cross-disciplinary) teams are allowed and encouraged.
Participants must register as a team.
Each participant may be a member of only one team.
Team Size:

Competition Format:
The hackathon follows a structured four-stage process.
Stage 1 – Registration & Idea Submission

Stage 2 – Screening & Shortlisting
All submissions will be evaluated by faculty members, startup mentors, and industry experts.
The most promising teams will be shortlisted for the offline Grand Finale.
Stage 3 – 24-Hour Offline Hackathon
Shortlisted teams will participate in a 24-hour offline hackathon at Government Engineering College, Jamui.
During the hackathon, teams will:
Build a working prototype
Receive technical mentoring
Participate in code reviews
Demonstrate continuous development progress
Present their final solution before the jury
Stage 4 – Grand Finale
Teams will demonstrate their working prototype before the jury panel.
The final evaluation will be based on innovation, implementation quality, scalability, presentation, and real-world impact.

AI Usage Policy:
The use of AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, and similar tools is permitted.
However:
Every participant must fully understand the code they submit.
Teams must be able to explain their implementation during code reviews and final evaluation.
Judges may ask participants to explain, modify, or extend any part of the submitted solution.

Rules & Guidelines:
Participation is allowed only in registered teams of 2–4 members.
Teams must submit an original idea and solution.
Plagiarism, copied projects, or intellectual property violations will lead to immediate disqualification.
AI development tools are permitted; however, the core idea, architecture, and implementation must be developed and understood by the participating team.
Teams must develop their working prototype during the hackathon. Fully pre-built projects are not permitted.
Participants must bring their own laptops, chargers, and any required hardware.
Internet connectivity and basic infrastructure will be provided by the organizing committee.
All participants must carry a valid college identity card during the offline final round.
The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
The organizing committee reserves the right to modify the rules, evaluation process, or schedule if required due to unforeseen circumstances.
Any damage to institute property or violation of campus rules may result in immediate disqualification and disciplinary action.
