One team is walking away with $50,000 cash. On Friday 24 July, we’re bringing together developers, designers, founders, product people and commercial brains to officially launch Pinch Me, I Want 50K — a national hackathon powered by Pinch Payments and The Founders Union. This isn’t a night of talking about building. This is where it all begins. At 7:00pm, the countdown starts on 48 hours to build something new using the Pinch API, with one team taking home the $50,000 grand prize. Before the clock starts, we’ll: Walk through everything you need to know before the build begins.Introduce the mentors and support crewShow you where to get technical and mentor support throughout the weekendHelp solo builders find the people they need to form a team Come early for drinks and light bites, meet potential teammates, connect with mentors, and kick off the build alongside Australia's developer and founder community. No team yet? We’ll help with that. No perfectly formed idea? You don’t need one. Not in Sydney? The entire launch will be streamed live, so you can join from anywhere in Australia and compete on equal footing.
