About this hackathon
Overview
Hardware Designathon | CAD & PCB Design | KRC Carnival 2026
Put your engineering creativity and design skills to the test at the Hardware Designathon, presented by Karuyantra Robotics Club (KRC) as part of Elysian 4.0, GGSIPU!
This on-the-spot design competition challenges participants to transform a problem statement into a practical, innovative, and manufacturable solution within a limited time. Choose your area of expertise and compete in one of two tracks: CAD Designathon or PCB Designathon.
CAD Designathon: Create a CAD model using software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape or any other software you are used to focusing on design quality, functionality, and manufacturability.
PCB Designathon: Develop a PCB design using your preferred PCB design software, showcasing your technical understanding and creativity.
The problem statements will be revealed on the event day, giving every team an equal opportunity to demonstrate its problem-solving abilities. Participants will have 5 hours, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, to complete their designs, followed by a presentation explaining their design approach and decisions.
Teams of up to 2 members are allowed, including cross-institute teams. Each participant may compete in only one track and belong to only one team. AI tools are not permitted for design purposes.
Judging will be based on aesthetics, manufacturability, and presentation.
