What if your next 30 days could change your entire career trajectory? National Startup Hackathon is a one-month national startup hackathon where students from Data Analytics, Web Development, and Business Management come together from across India to do one thing — build and run a real startup from scratch. This is not a traditional hackathon. This is not a case study competition. This is the closest thing to founding a real company — without dropping out of college. How It Works You register as an individual. We build your team. Every participant is placed into a randomly assigned cross-functional team of 6, deliberately mixing students from different disciplines and different colleges across India. Your team will include data analysts who can read markets, developers who can build products, and business minds who can sell and strategize — the exact composition of a real founding team. Each team is then handed a specially researched startup idea, complete with a detailed execution plan. You don't start from zero — you start with direction. What you do with it over the next 30 days is entirely up to you. What You Will Actually Do Over the course of the month, your team will: Validate the idea with real potential customers Build a working prototype or MVP Develop a go-to-market strategy Acquire your first real users Track business metrics that actually matter — revenue, retention, conversion, and growth This is not theory. This is not a presentation. This is real work, evaluated on real outcomes. What the Best Teams Win The top-performing teams at the end of the hackathon will receive direct access to mentor networks and investor connections — people who have built and funded real businesses. This means guided feedback sessions, potential introductions to early-stage investors, and a genuine pathway to take your startup beyond the hackathon if you choose to. But Even If You Are Not Building a Startup Full Time Not everyone wants to be a founder. That is completely fine. National Startup Hackathon is equally valuable if you are a developer looking for a real project to add to your portfolio, a data student who wants applied experience beyond classroom datasets, or a business student who wants to understand what execution actually looks like in the real world. What you will leave with — regardless of your ambitions — is a cross-disciplinary team you built something real with, a network of driven students from colleges all across India, a hands-on experience that stands out on any resume or LinkedIn profile, and the confidence of knowing you can take an idea and move it forward under real pressure. Who Should Apply This hackathon is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students across India currently studying or recently graduated in Data Analytics, Web Development, Computer Science, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or any related field. No prior startup experience is required. What we are looking for is curiosity, commitment, and the willingness to show up every single day for 30 days. What to Expect The hackathon runs for 30 days entirely online. Teams will receive their startup brief on Day 1, have access to structured weekly check-ins, and submit weekly progress reports evaluated on execution quality — not just presentation polish. The final evaluation will be based on customer traction, product quality, team collaboration, and business thinking demonstrated across the full month.
