About this hackathon

Eligibility: Open to all college students. Participants can compete individually or in teams of 2–4 members. Inter-college teams are allowed. Inter-specialization/department teams are allowed. Participants must provide valid college/student details during registration. Teams must maintain the same members throughout all rounds. Format & Rounds Round 1 – MCQ Challenge Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) Number of Questions: 30 Duration: 30 minutes Topics: Programming fundamentals, computer science basics, logical reasoning, algorithms, data structures, and general technical concepts. Each question will have one correct answer. Teams/participants will be shortlisted based on their scores. Only shortlisted participants will proceed to Round 2. Round 2 – Basic Coding & Problem Solving Format: Basic coding/problem-solving round Number of Problems: 3 Duration: 60 minutes Participants will solve programming problems ranging from easy to moderate difficulty. Problems will test logical thinking, programming fundamentals, basic data structures, algorithms, and implementation skills. Solutions will be evaluated based on correctness and test-case performance. Shortlisted teams will proceed to the final round. Round 3 – Final Hackathon / Development Challenge Format: Final development and problem-solving round Duration: 2–3 hours Participants will be given a final problem statement or development challenge. Teams must design and implement a working solution within the given time. Evaluation will consider: Problem understanding Innovation and creativity Functionality Code quality User experience Efficiency Overall implementation Rules The hackathon consists of 3 rounds: MCQ Challenge, Basic Coding, and Final Development Challenge. Participants must complete each round within the specified time. Inter-college team members are allowed. Inter-specialization/department team members are allowed. Team size must remain between 2 and 4 members. Teams cannot change members after registration/qualification unless permitted by the organizers. Participants must use their own knowledge and skills to solve the challenges. Any form of plagiarism, cheating, impersonation, or unfair practice will result in immediate disqualification. Internet usage and external resources will be permitted or restricted according to the instructions announced by the organizers for each round. For the final round, teams must submit their solution before the deadline. The organizers' decision regarding evaluation, qualification, and disqualification will be final. In case of a tie, the team with the better score/time in the preceding round may be given preference. Participants must follow all instructions provided by the organizers during the event. Selection Process Round 1: Top-performing participants/teams qualify for Round 2. Round 2: Top-performing participants/teams qualify for the Final Round. Round 3: Finalists are evaluated based on the quality and completeness of their submitted solution. Winners will be selected based on the final evaluation score. Suggested Scoring Round 1: 20% Round 2: 30% Round 3: 50% The final round carries the highest weightage to emphasize practical implementation and problem-solving ability.
