About this hackathon

Code Olympics 2026 was an elite programming championship with a single, unforgiving rule set: no frameworks, no excuses, just skill. Teams built real, working systems under brutal constraints — no imports, single-function programs, two-hundred-line budgets, short-name-only identifiers — where the challenge was not what to build but how much engineering you could fit inside the cage. Forty-four teams shipped, and a senior panel scored every submission on functionality, constraint mastery, language adaptation, code quality, and innovation. ✯ Grand Prize Winners 1st Place — SENTINEL (Team: I'm The Warrior). A real-time system-health sentinel in TypeScript with zero imports, zero dependencies, and zero build step — a live monitor, health-checks, automation, and self-cleaner packed into a single 605-line file. Score: 4.79/5.0 across 9 judges. 2nd Place — Gambit (Team: GANESHA). Stores any file as a legal, playable game of chess and decodes it back byte-for-byte — a lossless file-to-PGN encoder in ~470 lines of Go, with a byte-identical Rust port, built under the short-name-identifier constraint. Score: 4.64/5.0. 3rd Place — Quizlympics (Team: HANUMAN FORCE). An entire cloud-connected trivia game inside one PHP function — live questions, adaptive difficulty, and a global leaderboard in 473 lines with zero closures. Score: 4.51/5.0. ✯ Excellence Tier Athelios III (Quantum) — a one-pass Rust system utility that audits a project folder and tells judges whether a repo is safe, clean, runnable, and ready for review. Score: 4.44/5.0. Canvas (simple) — reads tabular data, maps columns to geometric properties, and emits interactive generative SVG art through a strict three-state machine, all in 200 lines of Ruby. Score: 4.37/5.0. Microservice Telemetry Aggregator (Ragnarok) — a real-time terminal dashboard ingesting live JSON log streams, detecting anomalies with dynamic statistical baselines, in 50 lines of Ruby with zero dependencies. Score: 4.33/5.0. ✯ Standout Innovations TorrentX (TorrentX) — a dependency-free CLI that parses .torrent metadata locally to extract trackers, SHA-1 infohashes, file structures, and magnet links. Caption CLI (Transcap) — a Python pipeline that ingests video, extracts and indexes speech, and produces a captioned MP4 in multiple formats. ChunkRelay (Chunkers) — a chunked binary file processor that streams 64KB SHA-256-verified chunks over TCP/HTTP and reassembles them across LAN and internet. ✯ Evaluation Panel Submissions were scored on a weighted five-criterion rubric (functionality and reliability, constraint mastery, language adaptation, code quality, and innovation). The senior panel included: Ronak Patel — Senior Engineering Manager, American Family Insurance Bhanu Kiran Kaithe — Engineering Manager, DevOps, Stellar Cyber Harender Bisht — Solution Architect and PhD candidate in Artificial Intelligence Makarand Gujarathi — Senior Software Engineer, Walmart Rohit Singh Raja — Principal Quality Engineer, Clinical Ink.
