Freedom to Build: The American Dream Hackathon
London's 4th of July hackathon. One day. Two tracks. Ship something real.
We're throwing a hackathon to celebrate that freedom. Come build with us.
Freedom to Build is a one-day London hackathon on Independence Day โ open to builders, designers, developers, and founders who want to ship something real before the fireworks go off.
The day is built around one thing: making. Meet your team in the morning. Learn the tools. Build fast. Get mentor feedback. Demo what you made. Leave with something real.
We have two tracks running side by side:
๐ฎ Games Track โ Build an AI-powered game. Bring a game mechanic, a character idea, a story world, a mini-game, a mobile concept, a multiplayer idea, or a rough prototype. By end of day you'll have a working demo and a launch-ready story. This track is loud, competitive, and fun.
๐ Open Track โ Build anything with AI. Products, tools, agents, apps, automations. If you have a startup idea you've been sitting on, this is the day you stop sitting. No pitch decks. Just working software.
Both tracks compete for prizes. Both tracks share the same mentors, the same energy, and the same end-of-day party.
The birthday
SaladHR Technology Ltd โ the company that spawned HeySalad โ turns 3 years old on 4 July 2026. We were incorporated on Independence Day. We've never let that go unnoticed.
This year we're making it loud. The hackathon ends with a proper birthday celebration: prizes, cake, and a DJ closing out the night.
