OpenAI Build Week — Codex Hackathon Rabat Join us in Rabat for a two-day, in-person Codex Hackathon organized as part of OpenAI Global Build Week. This public event will bring together developers, students, founders, designers, and AI enthusiasts to build practical projects using Codex. Participants will form teams, develop their ideas with support from mentors, present their projects to a jury, and have the opportunity to submit their work to the main OpenAI Global Build Week Hackathon. Event details Dates: Thursday, July 16 and Friday, July 17, 2026Time: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM each dayTimezone: GMT+1Location: ESSEC Business School – Rabat CampusCity: Rabat, MoroccoFormat: Two-day, in-person public hackathonCapacity: 40 participantsLanguage: English and French What to expect Introduction to OpenAI Global Build WeekIntroduction to CodexLive Codex demonstrationsHackathon challenge briefingTeam formation and idea validationHands-on building sessionsMentoring and technical supportFinal project presentationsJury evaluationWinner announcementNetworking with the local developer and AI community Schedule Day 1 — Thursday, July 16 9:00 AM — Welcome and check-in Participant registration, introductions, and an overview of the event. 9:30 AM — OpenAI Build Week and Codex introduction Introduction to Global Build Week, Codex, available resources, and the hackathon format. 10:00 AM — Live Codex demonstration A practical demonstration of how Codex can support software development, automation, debugging, and product building. 10:30 AM — Challenge briefing and team formation Presentation of the hackathon challenges, team formation, and initial project selection. 11:00 AM — Building session Teams begin developing their projects with mentoring and technical support. 1:00 PM — End of Day 1 Day 2 — Friday, July 17 9:00 AM — Building resumes Teams continue developing and improving their projects. 11:00 AM — Project finalization Final testing, preparation, and submission of project materials. 11:45 AM — Final presentations Teams present their projects to the jury. 12:30 PM — Jury evaluation and winner announcement Projects will be evaluated based on innovation, usefulness, execution, and effective use of Codex. 1:00 PM — Closing Winner announcement, closing remarks, and networking. Codex credits Each eligible checked-in participant is expected to receive $100 in Codex credits, subject to OpenAI’s official approval, eligibility requirements, and event check-in process. Participants should bring their own laptops and ensure they can access their OpenAI accounts during the event. Winner prizes Prize support has been requested for the three winning teams, including: ChatGPT Pro subscriptionsAdditional Codex credits These prizes are subject to confirmation and approval from OpenAI. Final prize details will be communicated once officially confirmed.
