About this hackathon
BlockHunt '26 is a beginner friendly, escalating blockchain puzzle hunt where teams sort a broken chain, mine blocks against a live difficulty target, catch a tampered chain, crack a smart contract puzzle, and close with a laptop based consensus finale.
Format: 5 stages across approximately 3 hours, testing hashing, mining, tamper evidence, smart contracts, and consensus concepts hands on.
Eligibility: Open to all college students. No prior blockchain knowledge required; the event is designed to be accessible for beginners while still challenging for experienced participants.
Team size: 2 to 3 members per team. No restriction on inter-college or inter-specialization teams.
Rounds: 5 main stages (1 optional bonus stage), each stage must be cleared to advance, except the optional Stage 4.
Duration: Approximately 3 hours total, including registration and prize distribution.
Rules:
AI assistants are permitted for general reference, but every stage requires live, human interaction with the event platform.
Sharing data or answers between teams is prohibited and will lead to disqualification.
Judges' and volunteers' decisions are final.
