About this hackathon

About the Hackathon: BharatBuild is the flagship Low-Code Hackathon of Startup Summit 2.0, organized by SRM Institute of Science and Technology. The hackathon challenges participants to design and build impactful digital solutions using low-code and no-code platforms to address real-world problems faced by rural India. With innovation, accessibility, and scalability at its core, the hackathon empowers participants to transform ideas into functional prototypes while solving challenges across healthcare, education, public infrastructure, employment, governance, and community development. Theme: Innovating for Bharat: Low-Code Solutions for Rural Empowerment Build scalable, technology-enabled solutions using low-code or no-code platforms to solve real-world challenges in rural India. Participants are encouraged to create innovative, user-centric solutions that are practical, sustainable, and capable of creating measurable social impact. Tracks: Participants may choose any one of the following tracks: Health & Sanitation Digital systems for livestock vaccination tracking and scheduling. Rural health record management and appointment booking. Platforms to coordinate village-level sanitation initiatives. Monitoring and reporting tools for electricity supply schedules. Child Welfare & Protection Solutions to identify and prevent child trafficking risks. Child safety awareness and reporting platforms. Applications for school enrolment and attendance monitoring. Digital support systems for Anganwadi operations. Aadhaar enrolment drives and child sponsorship portals. Infrastructure & Utilities Community-driven reporting platforms for water infrastructure maintenance. Public transport scheduling and monitoring systems. Digital platforms to track and request essential public utilities. Employment & Skill Development Job-matching platforms for rural youth. Skill development and e-learning solutions in regional languages. Awareness platforms for government employment and skill development schemes. Awareness & Identification Local-language awareness portals for health, education, and safety. Mobile enrolment tracking for Aadhaar registration. Campaign management platforms for government scheme awareness. Note: Teams are welcome to propose any innovative solution that aligns with one of the above tracks. Event Flow: Registration & Briefing Participants will complete registration and receive an overview of the hackathon guidelines, evaluation criteria, and event workflow. Idea Presentation Teams will present their problem statement, proposed solution, and implementation approach before the judging panel. Prototype Development Selected teams will build and refine their low-code/no-code prototype during the hackathon. Prototype Demonstration Teams will showcase their completed prototype, explain its functionality, and demonstrate how it addresses the chosen problem statement. Final Evaluation Judges will evaluate the solutions based on innovation, usability, technical implementation, scalability, feasibility, and overall social impact. Guidelines: Registration Fee: ₹200 per team. Team size: 2 members. A participant may be part of only one team. Teams may consist of members from multidisciplinary backgrounds. Solutions must align with one of the prescribed tracks. Participants may use any low-code or no-code platform of their choice. All submissions must be original. Plagiarism or previously developed projects may lead to disqualification. Participants must adhere to the event schedule and instructions provided by the organizers. The decision of the judges and the organizing committee will be final and binding. Schedule: BharatBuild – A Low-Code Hackathon: 9th September 2026 The event will include registration, idea presentations, prototype development, prototype demonstrations, evaluation rounds, and the announcement of winners during the Valedictory & Award Ceremony.
