About this hackathon
Baloon National Hackathon is an opportunity for students to showcase their problem-solving, innovation, technical skills, and ability to develop practical solutions to real-world problems. Participants will progress through multiple evaluation stages, with shortlisted teams presenting their solutions to the evaluation panel.
Round 1: Registration & Submission
Step 1: Registration
Participants must provide accurate team details, including team name, members, college, specialization, and contact information.
Step 2: PPT & Prototype Submission
Registered teams will receive 5–6 days to prepare and submit their solutions.
Each team must submit:
Own Problem Statement & Solution PPT: Problem identification, proposed solution, target users, implementation strategy, feasibility, and expected impact.
Prototype: A functional demo, MVP, working model, or interactive prototype demonstrating the proposed solution.
Submissions must follow the prescribed format and deadline.
Step 3: Shortlisting
All submissions will be evaluated by the screening panel.
Teams will be assessed on innovation, problem relevance, feasibility, technical implementation, user impact, and presentation quality.
Only shortlisted teams will qualify for Round 2.
Round 2: 24-Hour Development Challenge & Evaluation
Step 1: Challenge Brief
Shortlisted teams will receive a specific development brief or additional requirements for their selected problem statement.
Teams will be given 24 hours to work on the challenge and prepare their updated solution.
Step 2: Solution Development
Teams must use the allotted time to implement the required improvements, demonstrate their development process, and prepare their final prototype.
The final submission should clearly demonstrate the solution, its key features, implementation, and practical application.
Step 3: Evaluation Schedule
After the 24-hour development window, the organising team will share individual evaluation slots with each shortlisted team.
Each team will receive a 30-minute evaluation session via Google Meet.
The session will include:
15 minutes: Solution demonstration and presentation.
10 minutes: Technical questions and evaluation by the panel.
5 minutes: Feedback and concluding discussion.
Evaluation sessions will be streamed or premiered on Baloon's official YouTube channel, subject to the final event schedule and participant communication.
Evaluation Criteria
Teams will be judged on:
Innovation and originality
Problem-solving approach
Technical implementation and functionality
Practical feasibility and scalability
User experience and potential impact
Clarity of presentation and responses to the evaluation panel
