Batam Innovation Center https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/batam-innovation-center is formed to nurture and promote innovation culture in Batam Island by organising workshops, demo days and hackathons.

Batam Singapore Hackathon 2026 is the first hackathon event that makes effort to bring best builders from all over the world to congregate, challenge themselves and compete to propose and build / develop the best solutions in 16 hrs! The solutions developed will also serve as reference for other developing cities to adopt to their needs with modifications.

The hackathon is being organized as a precursor to RISING Batam - Tech Leadership Summit 2026 https://www.yourtessera.com/e/rising-batam-tech-leaders-summit-2026

Promising solutions built during the hackathon may be considered for pilot with stakeholders in Batam island and other cities in the region.

The event also serves the objective of introducing Batam, a developing Island near Singapore, to global innovators.

"Build in Batam, Showcase to the World" is the theme of this Hackathon.

3 Tracks in the hackathon:

Track 1 - Digital Infrastructure - Data Centers

This track has 2 challenges. Builders can choose any one of them to build their solution.

Challenge 1 : Talent Bridge : Closing the Digital Skills Gap for Data Centers & Tech Jobs

Challenge 2 : Water & Energy Guardian: Sustainable Data Center Operations

Track 2 - Ease of Living & Sustainability

This track consists of 3 challenges. Builders may choose any 1 of them to provide their solution

Challenge 1 : Smart Mobility Flow: Tackling Traffic Congestion & Cross-Border Logistics

Challenge 2 : Green Waste Warrior: Circular Economy for Urban & Industrial Waste

Challenge 3 : Smart City Pulse: Enhancing Digital Public Services

Track 3 - Tourism Development - Health or Eco

This track has 2 challenges

Challenge 1 : Health Tourism Hub: Seamless Cross-Border Patient & Medical Experiences

Challenge 2 : Sustainable Tourism Explorer: Eco-Friendly Visitor Experiences

This is a technology agnostic hackathon. Participants can use their preferred tech stack from both AI and conventional tools, as we prioritize the outcome of the challenges over the technology itself.

Notes:

1. First batch of applications will be reviewed by 15th June and participants will receive the status of their application by 25th June. Final batch of participants will recieve the application status by 20th July.

2. The Registration form will be disabled upon receiving around 100-120 team applications. 25-30 teams will be shortlisted for participation. Care will be taken to accommodate participation from as many diverse nations as possible.
