About this hackathon

Build the next breakthrough in scientific discovery with AI. AI4Sci Hack is a one-day hackathon bringing together the next generation of scientists and AI builders to explore one question: How can AI help us discover, test, and understand the world faster? At Stanford, participants will spend the day turning ambitious scientific questions into working AI-powered research tools, workflows, and prototypes—from accelerating scientific analysis to enabling new ways to reason over data, experiments, and literature. This is where frontier AI meets real scientific curiosity: less about building another generic AI app, more about building what research could look like next. Speakers, Panels & Judges The program will feature keynotes, fireside conversations, and panels with leaders across AI, science, and venture. Our speakers and judging panel will also include: Top PhD researchers from MIT, Stanford, Oxford, and Harvard Tech leads from leading AI and technology companies, OpenAI, Bytedance Seed-LLM, Nebius, Rednotes, etc. Founders and researchers from frontier AI labsInvestors from top-tier venture firms supporting the next generation of AI and deep-tech companies More speakers, judges, partners, and mentors will be announced soon. Who Should Attend? This hackathon is for people who are serious about the future of science and AI: PhD students, postdocs, faculty, and research scientistsStudents in AI, biology, chemistry, physics, medicine, materials science, climate, and related fieldsML engineers, research engineers, and technical foundersBuilders interested in AI agents, scientific tooling, data, simulations, and research infrastructureAnyone with a scientific question they believe AI can help unlock You can come with a team or meet collaborators on-site. What Participants Will Build Teams will build AI-powered projects that can make scientific work faster, more rigorous, or more accessible. Your project might be a research agent, a scientific-data workflow, an experimental-analysis tool, a simulation or modeling system, a new evaluation method, or another bold idea at the frontier of AI for Science. The strongest teams will present their work to a cross-disciplinary panel of researchers, operators, and investors.
