About the challenge AI Hackathon 2026 is a one-day, in-person hackathon on Saturday 17 October 2026 at the Measurements Laboratory, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa. Teams of three turn an idea into a working AI-powered product in a single day using Jac, an open-source, AI-native programming language that brings agents, data, backend and frontend together.
One language. A whole AI stack. Endless possibilities.
Powered by Jaseci Labs, with EESoc. The main track is Hack the Future with Jac: build working software that makes real use of Jac and Jaseci, with at least 80% of your code in Jac.
What makes it special
- $1,000 in prizes: $500, $300 and $200 for the top three projects.
- Same-day results: judging happens after the deadline and winners are announced at the venue that evening.
- Jaseci team on-site: on hand all day to help with Jac and Jaseci.
- Free meals: a morning snack, lunch and an evening snack.
