What if AI could help eliminate disease, expand opportunity, or strengthen democracy? That question is the starting point for Build for Impact the first hackathon hosted by the Claude Builder Club at the University of Rwanda. This is part of the global CBC Spring 2026 Hackathon happening simultaneously at 78 universities across 12 countries. You will be building alongside students in the US, UK, India, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, and Kenya on the same day. You choose a track. You identify a real problem. You build something that works. You present it. That is the challenge. THE TRACKS 1 — Biology & Physical Health: Make healthcare more accessible or help people manage physical health conditions 2 — Neuroscience & Mental Health: Expand access to mental health support and understanding 3 — Economic Empowerment & Education: Remove barriers to learning and economic opportunity 4 — Governance & Collaboration: Help people participate in democracy or work together better 5 — Creative Flourishing: Amplify human creativity and help people find meaning PRIZES 🥇 1st Place — CBC merch pack + $750 API credits + 80,000+ RWF Cash 🥈 2nd Place — CBC merch + $500 API credits + 50,000+ RWF Cash 🥉 3rd Place — CBC merch + $250 API credits + 30,000+ RWF Cash ⭐ Loving Grace Ethics Award — exceptional ethical reasoning and commitment to human dignity ⭐ People's Choice — voted by participants on the day WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING Your laptop or smartphone — you will be building live. Your curiosity and your ideas no experience level required, but previous CBC sessions strongly recommended. Your Claude Pro access if you are a verified CBC member, you already have it. If not, sign up and attend a Thursday session before the event. HOW IT WORKS Register individually below. On the day, you will be matched with or choose your team (3–4 people). You will build together, then the top 3 finalist teams each present for 3 minutes before a live judging panel. Winners are announced at the closing ceremony. Judging is based on: · Impact Potential (25 pts) · Technical Execution (30 pts) · Ethical Alignment (25 pts) · Presentation (20 pts)
