Welcome to the ultimate tech battleground. DropHack is not your average hackathon; it is a high-stakes, high-velocity coding sprint designed strictly for elite student developers.
There are no pre-built templates and no rehearsed pitches. Participants will be tested on their raw adaptability, logical thinking, and rapid execution because the exact problem statements are kept heavily guarded until "Zero-Hour." When the timer starts, the challenges drop, and teams have exactly 10 hours to architect, build, and ship a working prototype.
The 5 Core Themes While the exact problem statements are a surprise, all challenges will fall under one of these five high-demand tech sectors:
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Web3 & Blockchain
Cybersecurity
Fintech
Healthcare Tech
Eligibility & Team Formation Guidelines
Target Audience (Tech Only): To maintain the highest quality of competition, participation is strictly limited to students pursuing technical degrees (B.Tech, BE, BCA, MCA, M.Tech, BSc IT, or equivalent tech backgrounds).
Team Size: 2 to 4 members per team.
Inter-College Teams: ALLOWED. You can form teams with developers from different tech institutions.
Inter-Specialization (Within Tech): ALLOWED. We highly encourage balancing your team with different technical skill sets (e.g., combining a Frontend UI dev, a Backend architect, and an AI specialist).
Solo Participation: Not allowed. A 10-hour sprint requires a coordinated team.
The Process & Format (How It Works)
Phase 1: Registration & Profile Screening
Register your team on Unstop. Ensure all team members have updated their profiles with their technical degrees, primary tech stacks, and active GitHub/LinkedIn links.
Phase 2: The Pre-Hackathon Online Assessment (Elimination Round)
To ensure an elite playing field, all registered teams must pass a mandatory online technical assessment.
Format: Online Quiz / Coding & Algorithmic Fundamentals.
Duration: 45 Minutes.
Goal: This round filters for strong coding fundamentals and logic to shortlist only the top 15% of teams for the main event.
Phase 3: DropHack - The Main Offline Event
The shortlisted elite teams will be invited to the official physical venue for the grand finale.
Duration: A ruthless 10-Hour Offline Development Sprint.
The Drop: Problem statements are revealed live on stage at exactly Zero-Hour. Teams must immediately pivot, divide tasks, and code a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) before the 10-hour clock runs out.
Rules of the Competition
No Pre-compiled Code: All projects must be built entirely during the 10-hour sprint. Bringing pre-written core logic will lead to instant disqualification.
Open Source & APIs: Because time is incredibly tight, the use of open-source libraries, frameworks, and sponsor APIs is heavily encouraged to speed up development.
Hardware: Participants must bring their own laptops, chargers, and any necessary adapters.
Submission: Final submissions must include a working prototype (MVP), a code repository link (GitHub), and a quick technical walkthrough for the judges.
Code of Conduct: Teams must maintain a professional and respectful environment at the offline venue. Any form of harassment or damage to venue property will result in strict action.
