AI Safety & Cybersecurity: Warmup for the Global South Hackathon

AI safety research is concentrated in a handful of countries. The risks aren't. On June 19-21, the Global South AI Safety Hackathon brings together researchers, engineers, and policy professionals from Latin America, Africa, and Asia to work on the problems the field has been slow to address. 328 sign-ups. 8 local hubs across 3 continents. $6,000 in prizes across 6 winning teams, with top projects invited into the Apart Fellowship for continued research and mentorship. Before that weekend of building, we're creating space at the Hub for the conversation that frames it. Zeugh @theZeugh, Head of Research at blockful and organizer of the first OpenClaw Meetup in Latin America, will open the conversation on AI safety and cybersecurity: what these mean in practice, how they intersect, and why builders in this region have a distinct perspective to bring.
