Event Overview: TechNova is a premier tech competition designed to ignite the spark of brilliance in students passionate about software technology. Open to both undergraduate and graduate students, TechNova offers an opportunity to showcase technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities in a competitive environment. Objective: Our goal is to empower and inspire the next generation of tech innovators by providing a platform where they can tackle real-world challenges and develop cutting-edge solutions. Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in software technology. Participants must form teams with members from the same college, but they can come from any field of study. Team size: Minimum 1 member, Maximum 3 members. Competition Format: TechNova consists of three knockout rounds: Round 1: Qualifier (1st August) 30-minute MCQ test conducted online. Top teams will qualify based on cutoffs. Round 2: Grand Master (3rd August - 23th August) A problem statement will be given to the qualifying teams with a 2-week deadline to submit their solutions. Solutions will be evaluated to select teams for the final round. Round 3: Championship (11th September) Finalists will present their solutions in front of a Jury at an offline event held at a hotel. Judging Criteria: Qualifiers: Based on MCQ test cutoffs. Grand Master: Quality of the solution provided. Championship: Presentation and defense of the solution in front of the Jury. Prizes and Recognition: Winning Team: INR 1,00,000 1st Runner Up: INR 50,000 Top 10 Qualifying Teams from Qualifiers: Each individual receives an INR 1,000 Amazon Voucher. Participation Certificates: All participants receive certificates, with additional certificates of merit for those advancing beyond the first round. Logistics and Timeline Round 1 & Round 2: Conducted online. Round 3: Offline presentation in front of a Jury. Registration: Begins on 17th July on Unstop's microsite, free of cost. Important Dates: Qualifier: 1st August(12 PM to 6 PM) Results & Problem Statement: 3rd August Grand Master Submission Deadline: 23rd August (11:59 PM) Championship: 11th September (Bhubaneswar City in Odisha) Support and Resources: Post Qualifiers, each qualifying team will be assigned a buddy from ESSPL to assist them in the competition. Registration: Participants can register for free on Unstop's microsite starting from 17th July. FAQs: Travel and lodging costs for the final round (Round-3) are to be borne by the qualified candidates. The final will only be a full-day event on 11th September 2026. Please plan accordingly. Round 1 and Round 2 are online rounds. Source Code created in Round-2 has to be submitted in a ZIP file along with other documents. Only the Team Lead mandatorily has to appear the qualifier (Round-1).  Digital proof of student status for each team member (Student ID or any other document) must be included in the ZIP file along with the solution and other required documents for Round 2.
