UI / UX Pixel Craft – INNOVATEX 4.0 | Presidency University
An intensive mini-hackathon conducted under INNOVATEX 4.0 as part of the MakerSpace Cluster. Pixel Craft challenges teams to conceptualize, design, and deliver a complete high-fidelity UI/UX solution for a real-world application within a limited timeframe.
Participants will analyze user needs, define problem statements, create wireframes, develop intuitive interfaces, and build seamless user flows using Figma. The event simulates real-world product design environments where creativity, usability, and strategy matter equally.
Objective:
Design a complete high-fidelity UI/UX solution within 6 hours
Apply strong design thinking and user-centric principles
Justify design decisions with clarity and logic
Balance aesthetics, functionality, accessibility, and feasibility
Eligibility:
Open to undergraduate students from recognized institutions
Valid college ID card is mandatory
Offline mode only
Team Composition:
4 members per team
One team per participant only
Entire team must remain present throughout the event
Competition Format:
Two-phase design sprint
Total duration: 6 hours
Event Flow:
Design Sprint Phase 1 – Research & Wireframing (3 Hours):
Analyze the given problem statement
Conduct user research and define personas
Ideate concepts
Create low- to mid-fidelity wireframes in Figma
Design Sprint Phase 2 – High-Fidelity Design (3 Hours):
Develop complete high-fidelity UI screens
Finalize user flow and navigation logic
Refine typography, color systems, spacing, and layout
Prepare final design for submission
Final Evaluation (10 Minutes per Team):
Present the design to the judges
Submit the official Figma link
Justify decisions and answer queries

The entire design must be created during the 6-hour event
Permitted Components:
Manual design using Figma tools
Custom components created during the event
Self-designed icons and visual elements
Prohibited Components:
Pre-built UI kits or templates
Copied designs from existing apps/websites
AI-generated layouts or automated designs
External assets created before the event
Pre-Existing Work Policy:
Teams must start with a blank Figma file
No pre-designed assets allowed
Reuse of past designs leads to disqualification

Consistent typography and color systems
Clear navigation and usability
Logical user journey mapping
Submission Guidelines:
Final submission must include:
Figma design link (complete solution)
Design presentation (PDF/PPT) including:
Problem statement
Design process
Key UI/UX decisions
User flow explanation
Optional documentation on challenges and feasibility
No source code required
Late or incomplete submissions will be disqualified
