About the Hackathon:
HackFusion 2026 is a National-Level 24-Hour Offline Hackathon organized by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Chennai Institute of Technology. The event brings together talented undergraduate engineering students from across India to innovate, collaborate, and build impactful software solutions for real-world challenges.

Competition Format:
Round 1 – Online PPT Submission
Choose any open-domain problem statement.
Submit your idea as a PDF using the official HackFusion PPT template.
Entries will be evaluated based on innovation, feasibility, presentation quality, and prototype/repository (if available).
Round 2 – Grand Finale (Offline)
Shortlisted teams will be invited to Chennai Institute of Technology for the 24-hour offline hackathon.
Teams will receive an industry-inspired problem statement on the spot.
Participants must build a complete software prototype from scratch with guidance from industry mentors.

Eligibility:
Open to undergraduate (B.E./B.Tech) students only.
Students from all engineering branches are eligible.
Team size: 2–4 members.
Cross-college and cross-department teams are allowed.
Important Information:
Round 1 registration is free.
Only shortlisted teams selected for the offline finale are required to pay a registration fee of ₹500 per team.
Registration closes on 13 August 2026.
Rules:
Final-round projects must be built entirely from scratch after the problem statement is announced.
Pre-built projects, templates, boilerplates, or previously written code are not allowed.
AI coding tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot are permitted.
Prizes:
Winner: ₹50,000
Runner-up: ₹30,000
Second Runner-up: ₹20,000
Participation certificates will be provided to all finalists, and virtual certificates will be awarded to all registered teams.
