AI agents are starting to pay for the data and services they use. Come build one, and help shape what the open, paid web looks like. No coding experience required. Whether you're a seasoned engineer or have never written a line of code, you can build something real here using AI coding tools and ready-made Apify Actors. Come with an idea, leave with a working agent. The challenge Build an agent that pays for web data to get something done. Your agent uses Apify Actors to access or buy web data, and pays for it through a metered or paywalled gate. Pick whichever path fits you: Chain it: Combine two or more existing Actors from the Apify Store into an agent that does something new. Use an AI assistant (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT) to wire them together by prompting, no coding experience needed. The morning workshop gets you from zero to a working agent.Build it: Create a brand-new Actor in Node.js or Python with the support of Apify agent skills. Either way, work in pairs or solo, build a working prototype in a day, and demo it live. What to expect Hands-on building with Apify, at any skill levelBeginner-friendly workshop to get your first agent up and runningMentors on hand all day for ideas and technical helpNetworking with builders working on agents and the paid webCash and credit prizes, demos, and swag for everyone Not sure what to build? Think agents that buy a dataset to answer a question, pull paid data to build a report, chain a scraper into an analyzer, or pay to access a tool on demand. Here are some ideas, and here is how to find more. Prizes Best project overall: $500 cash + $500 Apify creditsSecond place project: $250 cash + $250 Apify creditsThird place project: $250 Apify credits Judged on the strength of the idea and demo, not on whether you chained Actors or built your own. Judging criteria Working demo: does it run and do what you claim?Use of web data: how well does it use Actors and live data? The paid web: how cleanly does the agent discover, access, and pay for what it needs?Presentation: is the pitch clear and compelling? About Apify Apify is the world's largest marketplace for tools that enable web scraping, data extraction, and AI agents. It lets you get up-to-date data from social media sites, search engines, online maps, or any other website. On the Apify platform, developers build their own tools (called Actors), then publish and monetize them. It's trusted by enterprises like Siemens, Intercom, Groupon, and Microsoft, as well as 25,000+ customers around the world. 👾 Join the conversation on Discord · Explore Apify at apify.com
