About the challenge

Virtual Dreams is a structured program presented by the Seattle Immersive Media Lab where students dive into Augmented & Virtual Reality storytelling design.

Each day session combines guided workshops, team-based project work, and mentorship from local XR professionals. The program builds towards this 3-part hackathon where industry professionals help turn their “dreams” into functional experiences and present their completed projects to peers, family, and industry guests during a final public showcase in collaboration with Seattle VR XR Conference at the University of Washington Global Innovation Exhange in Bellevue, WA on June 6, 2026.

Get started

This invite-only hackathon is designed to bring Pacific Northwest developers to collaborate with the Virtual Dreams students to bring their designs to life.
Over the course of three Saturdays in May 2026 we'll work together to lift the project designs off of the paper prototype stage, and bring them into playable designs for the final presentation showcase.
