Under the Surface:
The best ideas aren't always obvious. Sometimes, they're just under the surface.
Under the Surface is an online website development hackathon hosted as part of Hack Club's Bidaya initiative. Whether you're just getting started with web development or you've already built a few projects, this is your chance to challenge yourself, learn something new, and create a website you're proud of.
This hackathon is about exploring ideas, solving problems, and having fun while building. You don't need a team—just your creativity and a willingness to learn.
Eligibility:
Open to high school students.
Individual participation only (no teams).
Beginners and experienced developers are all welcome.
The Challenge:
Design and build a website inspired by the hackathon theme. We want to see your creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills come together in a project that reflects your ideas.
Allowed Technologies:
Participants MUST use:
React (JavaScript)
HTML
CSS
Not Allowed:
Other frontend frameworks (Vue, Angular, Svelte, etc.)
Website builders (Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, WordPress, etc.)
